Markdaniel Barbershop in Jersey City, is a newer barber shop created in 2019. It's a welcoming environment, very relaxed and inviting. The place is clean, smells nice, and the staff are friendly and professional. Upon arriving they offer you a choice of beverage including coffee, espresso, shot of whiskey, or water. The shaves begin with a hot towel treatment to enhance the experience. Enjoyable experience.

If you’re like me it’s tough to find a good barber that’s consistent and that you can trust ..I’m so glad that I found Markdaniel. The shop is always super clean, smells awesome and everyone is so friendly/professional. If you want a haircut that you would get on your wedding day every time with zero anxiety, then this is the place for you! Nothing less then perfect every time I leave the shop I feel like a new man. I stopped in today for a haircut and shave. I am a frequent customer of the other location(Hoboken) and wanted to check out the new location. Service and quality of haircuts are just as good at this location. The owner and his staff take pride in what they do and it shows. Upon arriving they offer you a choice of beverage including coffee, espresso, shot of whiskey, or water which is a nice touch. The nice thing about getting a shave here is right before the shave they use a hot towel which makes for much better shave and they block out 30 minutes of time per shave. This allows them to be precise. I will definitely be back!read more

I went In earlier this week to take my nephew for a Christmas haircut last minute and the receptionist Gabby was so polite to me and my nephew and had gotten us both accommodated for a haircut. Mark cut my nephews hair and boosted his confidence so much. He was so happy that when he got home he was so eager to tell everyone about the great haircut. Akeem cut my hair and it was nothing less than perfect. His passion in his craftsmanship was of such high caliber. I felt amazing and I will definitely be coming back. My first time here, and i have to say the staff is nice and caring. I like my haircut, and the shop is kept clean and sanitary. They check everyone's temperature before seating them, and even have a sanitizer station for everyone to use. I will be going back here for my next haircut for sure, and I will recommend this place to others!read more

Great barbershop, I just moved to the neighborhood. They're very professional which is a huge plus during COVID times with pre appt screening, temperature checks, hand sanitizing station, and a full wipe down of chairs and all equipment in front of me. Akeem just knows what he's doing and he got exactly the look I was going for. Glad I found my new spot!read more

I was very skeptical about having someone else touch my hair! I’ve always had the same barber for the past 6 years and I’m very loyal to my barber but I was in dire need of a haircut! I received to barber location and I clicked on the first link and looked at reviews and said what the hell I’ll give it a shot. I didn’t expect a Italian Irish to give me the BEST haircut I’ve ever had. The time and quality he took on my and understanding my concerns while entertaining me was above top tier service. The whole experience was amazing! Never had I ever had someone cut my hair and not cut me in the process and my hairline have not even show back yet it’s still CRISPY! And straight! I highly recommend y’all book with Mike! He’s in the first chair when you walk in and he’s their Tues- Saturday! Btw they give free shot of whisky or tea or coffee. Super clean and updated!read more

Where do I start!? Soooo I have been on the hunt for a barber for my very curly haired son since moving here. After having a few bad experiences with other barbers we almost gave up. As I searched the web, I stumbled upon Markdaniel and saw how beautifully curly hair men’s hair had been cut. I immediately booked an appt. I was lucky to get a same day! When we arrive we were greeted by the receptionist and offered a beverage while we waited. Once in the chair Akeem immediately knew how to care for my son’s hair. He knew to wet his hair prior to brushing it. Which many other barbers we tried did not. I could actually relax for the first time during a cut. Not needing to console my child or pull out products out of my purse to assist. Akeem was the expert with the curls and it showed. I was able to have conversation while drinking my Markdaniel’s espresso while my son chilled in the chair. I recommend this barbershop to anyone that is seeking a great experienced barber! Another 5-star review. Hit this biz with a coworker while on a long work trip and wasn’t sure if I’d get Jersey shore’d.Cut from Akeem was prime and I was even offered a glass of whiskey. Just left from my first haircut here, they let you book an appointment online and pick your barber and time. I got it, was welcomed by a warm hello and offered water, whiskey, or espresso.My barber was Akeem who worked with me to get a really sharp cut. He finished the cut with a hot towel with eucalyptus and Bay Rum and a straight razor shave to the back of the neck. Overall a really great experience and makes me want to get my haircut more often.read more

You’re not gonna find a better place to get your hair done while having a nice conversation. Meho (Irish version of Michael) is the first barber I’ve had since coming here that actually knew how to cut Asian hair, he speaks good mandarin too which is a huge plus. The atmosphere is less like a barber shop and more similar to that of a small neighborhood bar, where everyone is relaxed and friendly, not to mention that they do offer free shots, which is always nice. Finding a new barber shop is always a risky process, I’m delighted that I found this little jewel of Jersey city. I only hope my job won’t take me away from here because I’d be saddened to go now that I’ve found the perfect place.read more

First time having a great experience by an all-around professional barbershop. Walked in for my appointment and hopped right into the chair. Glass of water before the cut, walk through of what i wanted with the barber David and absolute execution far beyond any shape up I've ever had. Warm towel before and after so no razor bumps on my neck and a shot of espresso for the road to get back to work. Highly recommend this experience to anybody who doesn't like getting haircuts for them to change that. Looking forward to my next cut.read more

I called last minute on a Friday and got booked with a Junior barber. At first I was a little nervous, but after being offered a shot of whisky and sat in the chair, I felt completely comfortable. I moved to JC a bit over a year ago and since then chose this place as my first shop to try a haircut. Since then, I have time and time again been thrilled with EVERYTHING. From the minute you walk in, you are greeted by someone lovely who offers you a drink while you wait and it is evident the space is clean and maintained well. The music is always fire and the lighting is nice as well. While I've only ever gone through one barber at the JC location, Jesse is incredible. I highly recommend his services and have never had a hitch or left feeling like it was sloppy at all. Again, everyone is so friendly and makes you feel like you are getting what you paid for. There is never a feeling of being rushed out the door or out of your chair and that is far beyond a lot of places I frequented in NYC for example. All in all, I stand by my five star rating and hope you find it to be as I described if not better. And no, I was not paid or told to write this haha, I am a real human being just wanting to pass on the good vibes that you get by going here. Besides consistently giving me the best haircut I’ve ever had, this team is so warm and welcoming. Jesse is incredibly talented and kind. The rest of the staff always makes me feel at home. This is something I’ve struggled with at other barbershops*. HUGE shoutout to Bella as well - she is so sweet!The booking system and payments are such a breeze too!Unfortunately, I am moving away and will have to find a new spot. Mark Daniel is probably the best barbershop I’ve been to. The staff is highly professional, polite, and the service is quick and efficient. I didn't put my hat back on after I walked out of Markdaniel for the first time today. Heck, I had to go back because I forgot it. The cut was that good. Barber Mike is freakin solid. Cool positive guy. His techniques and thoroughness are pure wizardry. He probably could have done it with his eyes closed. Need a skin fade in less then 30 mins in downtown JC? GO HERE! My new go-to barbershop – chill, friendly vibe and the barbers are all very skilled. I def recommend Luca, who has done a stellar job with my last few cuts. Definitely a great place for a precise and relaxing haircut. The service and environment is top tier and being offered any kind of beverage is something im not used to at a barbershop. These guys are definitely raising the bar. Music is always good and they also accommodated me showing up later due to my work schedule which I appreciated a lot. I've had my hair cut here four times now -- every single time, it's been a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Space is clean, bright, cozy -- lots of space to hang coats and sit. Not overwhelmingly noisy which I really like, since I'm already a bit hard of hearing. Complementary whiskey or espresso is a nice touch. Worked with two barbers, phenom cuts from both. Always feel listened to, really tight cuts that grow out excellently. Hot towel at the end of the cut, which helps keep me feeling fresh heading out the doorread more
