Hair Mechanix in Livonia, MI is a fun, MALE-friendly place where men get what they deserve. Built by guys for guys and powered by better girls. The attentive and talented staff offer all current and vintage hairstyles. The barber shop is lined with big screen TV's and photos covering the walls, along with rock music on the speakers. Also, you can sit back and relax with a complimentary beer. Each haircut includes a wash and hot towel neck shave. Hair color and waxing services are available as well. It's certainly a man focused experience. Locations in Michigan, Florida, and Pennsylvania.

I recently decided on coming to this location after doing a little search on the web and it was a pleasant experience, the hair stylist did an awesome job making sure of how I wanted her to cut and how I wanted the length from front to back. Awesome place for a haircut! If you want to have a beer, you can grab one while you wait, which makes the wait much more bearable!Summre is a great stylist and I always come out looking much better than when I went in. She can not only cut your hair, but she's great at waxing as well. I was a little nervous to get my nose hairs waxed with a full mustache, but she didn't even touch the mustache with the wax! I can't recommend her enough. I've moved 1400 miles away but still go out of my way specifically to go to this location when I'm in town so I can get a good haircut!read more

Was referred to Kaitlyn at the Livonia location. Only followed through because I trusted the referrer. Had been looking for a new barber/stylist for awhile. Very tired of unprofessional, sub-par wannabes. Also tired of my haircuts looking like s**t. I’m glad I came in and saw Kaitlyn. This lady knows her business & her chair side manner was impeccable. The cut turned out fantastic, in part due to her skill level, but also because she could sense my apprehension & she took a couple of minutes to ask some questions. Kaitlyn is the first stylist to take the time to understand why I was disillusioned with the hair industry, why I had low expectations & what I was looking for in a cut. Totally pleased with the experience. I will be back & I will have Kaitlyn do my cut.read more

I can’t say enough great things about all of the stylists at this location, but in particular Kaitlyn is amazing! Over the years I’ve had a lot of different people at different places cut my hair, but it’s never been as perfect as now.I travel to events for work, and every time I go to one of these events people always comment about how well cut my fade is. Never in my life prior to Kaitlyn cutting my hair has anyone stopped me to tell me this.She takes the time to pay attention to the nuances of how my hair grows, and spends the time afterwards looking at it from all the angles to make sure it’s cut perfectly.I will not let anyone else touch my hair, and if she can make mine look great, imagine what she can do for yours!I recommend family, friends, and you to book an appointment with her and see for yourself!read more

Both my son's got their hair cut there, not sure who my oldest son had cause I didn't go in with him, but it has taken 4 years for him to find a place that cuts it the way he likes it, my youngest son had Chole and omg she was absolutely amazing, she was fun and spunky had great music playing, loved the fact she was singing, she had a great voice and did the haircut he wanted perfectly, after his haircut he didn't even want to put his hat on cause he felt it would be disrespectful cause of all the time and effort she put into it, LOVE this place, this is our new hair cut place, oh and the prices are unbeatable!! It was 2 weeks ago that I called to see about a clean up. Ashley answered the phone and suggested I make an appointment, which I did , and a new experience awaited me. ( I had read a really negative review but I've worked in the public sector for years and I know you can't make everyone happy ). Boy am I glad I went there. I was introduced to Summre and she did a great job on this old guy (Haircut, shave beard off,and at her suggestion an ear wax). It was an experience I enjoyed ( the waxing...not so much) and I'll be going back soon. Great atmosphere and Great employees !!read more

I've been going to this Hair Mechanix (Livonia) since they opened. All of the stylists are great, I've never had a bad hair cut, or a bad experience. Kelly is exceptional! She's super friendly, has years of experience under her belt, and knows her craft extremely well. What more can you ask for? She actually used to cut my hair when she worked at a different place years ago. Luckily, our paths have crossed again, and now she's here! I can't recommend this place highly enough.read more

I've been going to Hair Mechanix for the last 10 years. I've usually floated between scheduling different stylists or walking in without an appointment and taking the first available. Today, I booked with Tiffany. Let me say that I just found my permanent stylist as long as she remains at this location! She may take a little longer, but I assure you it's worth it! After my last haircut location closed, found this place that was local. Good location, staff that is friendly, TVs to help pass the time and great conversations. Have been going to Ashley since I started last year. Very professional, willing to offer suggestions and holds excellent conversations to help pass the time.They have an app to schedule appointments on, however it can be challenging to figure out at first. In order to reschedule an appointment through the app, you will have to cancel your current one and schedule it for the date and time you want to change. You can also call them during business hours to reschedule appointments as well. I feel this is something that needs to be addressed with their app developer.read more
