Elegant Barber Shop in Brooklyn specialize in men and kids cuts. They provides clean professional haircuts and close hot towel shaves with an old fashioned hot lather and straight razor. If you're thirsty, just ask for some water, beer, or liquor. No charge. You can get traditional and short haircuts, as well as contemporary men's haircut styles. Smaller space but the waits are usually not very long.

Haircuts are fine, but the wait is always nuts. It doesn't matter if you're next in line: they're very slow in their cuts so you'll still end up waiting a good while. Might be worth it for the price ($20 haircut), but expect to wait 30 minutes before you get a seat.read more

It’s aight. It’s $20 for a haircut for men, not ~$13 as seen on the old “menu”. My stylist didn’t speak very good English and couldn’t read English. They had trouble with taking credit card system, so I ended up paying cash.The haircut I got was decent, not the best I’ve ever had. But for the price, it’s kinda what I expected. It’s hard to find a good barber shop for Asian men, I feel. Maybe I just haven’t found the place.read more

Just moved in into the neighborhood and had to find me a new barber, so I googled and Elegant came up first and I said why not. Came in in the morning they were open on time and ready. I've had 3 haircuts here by at least 2 different barbers and all were excellent. Small space but pleasant atmosphere and never too long of a wait. They have also cut my 5 year old son's hair a number of times and are always very patient and accommodating and do a great job.read more

Got my haircut by Max for the second time today. First haircut was solid and worthy of another visit. Today I asked for totally different style of haircut than the previous one and he delivered and had me looking great. Max is very meticulous and will take all the time he needs to find out what you're looking to get done and complete the haircut the way you're looking for. Everyone is courteous in the shop and the entire experience is a old school barbershop feel from the decor to the cool music. I went to see Sophia today - she was excellent, but I can’t give 5 stars solely because of the price. I asked for a medium skin fade, which she did with clippers. Never seen that before, but she performed wonderfully. I also wanted a beard trim with a straight edged line. She did so, fantastically. Overall, she was clean, thorough, and personal. Top marks there. The establishment was also very nicely kept, and the music being played was neutral and pleasant (albeit modern).So, the price: If you just want a haircut, it’s $30. Not awful, but the problems started when it came to beard trimming. A regular trim with clippers is another $15, but if you opt for a trim and full shape with a straight edge, the extra charge is an eye-watering $30, bringing you to a grand total of $60 with a haircut. I’m sorry, but for a place that offers shampoos for $5 and shape-ups for $10, a $30 up-charge for a proper beard service on someone already paying for a haircut seems a bit steep.read more

Been coming here for about 2 years now. I’ve sat in just about everyone’s chair and I’ve never been disappointed…not once. Everyone can cut your hair as long as YOU are clear on what you want. If you’re not clear, then that’s on you. Ignore the negative reviews…they probably weren’t clear on what they wanted. The space is clean and everyone is friendly. The haircuts are pretty good. However their business ethics are kind of shady. Would automatically shampoo your hair without you asking for it then charge you. Would seat people before you even if you had an appointment and give you attitude once you confront them about it. The haircuts somehow end up being way more expensive than you expect.
