For years I would just cut all my hair, myself, to one size because I was never happy with how it came out after a haircut, so why pay for something that will not make me happy. This place restored my faith in good barbers. I've never had a bad haircut there.read more

I've been a customer at Virile for at least 4 years. I have tried a number of other barbers in the area, but I have yet to find one that delivers the level of service and a haircut as good as the one I get at Virile. The barbers are top notch and their attention to detail is excellent. And they never fail to offer a drink as I enter the shop.The shop itself is a cool mix of classic barber chairs and some hip updates. The music can range from some classic delta blues to Radiohead. And the entire environment evokes a level of classic style. All in all, a great barber shop if you want a great haircut and a great experience, too. And I would also recommend their house line of product, Virile - Heart & Heritage. Their glass pomade is great stuff!read more

Just found this place recently but understand it's been open for about 7 years. Think old time barber shop crossed with man cave. Got a hot towel shave...best 45 mins of the month! Can be a bit pricey...but you will get by far the best service and quality haircut or shave you can get anywhere.read more

I’ve been getting haircuts at Virile for 6/7 years now and Sarah absolutely crushed this one. Needed an appointment on short notice and my usual barber wasn’t free so I booked with Sarah, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. She offered the perfect mix of communication, guidance and intuition. She was happy to accommodate requests through out, like going a little shorter on top after she was pretty much done. She did a great job with my fade and lining up my beard. Enthusiastically recommend Sarah if you’re in need of a great haircut.read more

Coffee?"...then they walk you into the shop, sit you down, and attend to grooming you in a way that reminds you that this is a trade that is centuries old--there is bound to be some highly professional crafts people out there--??--right?Well, i've found them. I’ve never left a review before but I felt I had to with my visit today. Nic at the Waldwick location did a fantastic job! He listened to what I wanted and asked several times if the work he was doing looked good so far. Friendly conversation and just an all around great vibe. Definitely the nicest barbershop I’ve ever been to. Everyone is so friendly and professional. Nick did an amazing job. I was looking a little ragged after working 270 hours straight for two weeks. UPDATE - so just went back today for the first time since before our wonderful COVID vacation. Had once again the best hot towel shave. Sarah was great, personable, and very skilled.
