I gave myself a close shave using some pharmacy products and numerous razor bumps appeared on my neck and face. Rayon and Kyle recommended a SteelMclean product called Parallel. It worked wonders. Within two days majority of my bumps were gone. Their products (in addition to their barber services) are amazing. Highly recommend.read more

One of the best barbershops that I’ve been to in a long time!! Great black owned business.. My cut was done by a female barber by the name of (Tahirah)!! She is AWESOME!! I was very SATISFIED !! Steel Mclean is the best barber experience I've had in years. The owner, Rayon, is incredibly personable and gives a great haircut at a fair price. The location is great, right near the South Orange train station and the shop is beautiful, sleek and immaculate. It feels very high end without being snooty or expensive. It is a great place to bring kids. Rayon kept my son (3) engaged and happy. We are two satisfied customers!read more

I was one of their first customers many years ago. I found them insanely hip and talented. I'm very happy they made it and became very successful. This barbershop experience was truly great. Given the circumstances around Covid - 19, the shop did a great job helping the process go relatively smoothly. Kyle gave me a haircut worth a million bucks. He really showed his attention to detail in working with my hairline, beard, and hair texture. What also sets this shop apart from many other local spots is their willingness to work on different hair types (curly, straight, thin etc.).With respect to the shop atmosphere, there was adequate task lighting around the barber stations to make sure they could see their work area properly as well as accent lighting for product displays. I highly recommend coming here for all your haircut and haircare needs.read more

I like the fact the shop is upscale and professional as I don't find with some other barber shops, which allow people to hang out, hustle stuff etc. I stopped going to one shop because too often the Barber would not show up. He would just have his clients waiting. He didn't take his job nor profession serious.read more

As Fire Marshall Bill used to say on In Living Color - LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING! (Lol). I went to this establishment for the first time yesterday after 2 bad experiences by 2 other barbers from other barber shops. This place right here!!!! Man listen, when I called the shop, I spoke to Kyle and this brother was professional, courteous, and friendly over the phone. Then he told me how the process works. He told me to download their app. I said what! These brothers have their own app!So I downloaded the app, put myself in the queue and received a fresh, pristine cut yesterday. These brothers are professional, friendly, and great all around people from my 1st impression. By George, I think I've got it! (My new barber...lol) I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks! I love this barber shop. My son and husband are very picky with their haircuts. I was the one who found the barber shop and started taking my son first. I’m very impressed with how clean it is, the talent and the app to wait on line.The best part is they literally can cut any texture hair of allll ethnicities something very difficult to find. This is not your typical barber shop. They are able to cut my husbands wavy hair and my sons curls.we really like Herb. They owner is this sweet sweet guy who goes above and beyond with treating customers well.Thank me later you will not regret it.read more
