I’ve been coming to this barber shop for almost a decade. They have more than a half dozen quality barbers, so if you’re new to the shop, you can walk in and be taken care of quickly. If you’re looking for a specific recommendation on a barber, Will has owned the shop for years and is a total professional, not to mention the most talented barber in the city. You can make an appointment with him (or any other barber). Will can cut all types of hair. There’s a reason I haven’t gone anywhere else for so long. I went here this morning for the first time. Getting your haircut in a new place made me a little nervous. The female who cut my hair listened in the beginning as to how I would like it cut. Then I was in suspense up until the end since the mirror was not in front of me. Once she was done she spun me around to check it out. Absolutely perfect. Better than my guys in the Northeast. The customer service could use some work. (E.g. Greeting people when they approach your chair and you are meeting them for the first time, addressing delays right away instead of checking you in and letting you wait for 30 mins before you find out your barber is late for your appointment, and save yourself the trouble and bring a picture as some barbers will listen and respond thoughtfully while others will condescend and be rude if they don’t believe your are explicit enough) Also, long waits are an issue even with appointments: 30 to 40 minutes on more than one occasion. Most times I’ve been pleased with the results. But it’s not worth $25 when there’s nothing outstanding about the service and others can do the same thing for cheaper.read more

He is very gentle, nice, take his name and he makes sure they are comfortable. I highly recommend this Barber shop and Christopher as your barber if you decide to come here. I've been in Philly for about 11 years and have had my haircut here for 6 years. In that time, I have always had trouble with barbers. I mean down to being traumatized from my experiences. They have been unreliable, full of themselves, disrespectful, non-communicative, sexist, dramatic, and downright rude.I had literally left two barbers in the last month and was about to give up when I found South Street Barbers. Maaaaaan listen! I honestly really like it there. All the barbers are cool and respectful. They don't treat me like I'm dumb because I don't know "barber lingo"; my first visit I actually had a CONSULTATION! Y'ALL!I have had my hair cut by most of the guys in there (not chair hopping on purpose, promise) but I most consistently see Chris for designs. He is amaaaaaazing! Ok! So talented! He listens and can do what I ask even when it doesn't make sense (lol). He will also be honest and tell me when a particular cut won't look right or if he has to change something based on my hair etc. I can't express just how appreciative of this I am! Communication is key! Respect is key! And these guys hit it all!read more

I visited Philly because I was getting married that weekend. I'm bald, so I just needed a really clean beard cut. I had looked into SouthStreet Barbers IG, and it looked like they did good work. Set-up an appointment with Will, and he did not disappoint. Since I'm not from the area, I showed him a pic of what I usually get, and he executed to perfection. Will does a good job compensating when there’s a conflict between the book and the scheduling app Booksy.
