Been here 3 times now, never disappointed. Free refreshments while you wait, cool atmosphere, nice conversation with staff. They only take cash though, FYI, but they have an ATM in store so it's easy.

First time getting my haircut here. I'm making Barbershop Denim my spot. Walked in 10 minutes early for my appointment. Was greeted immediately. Sarah cut my hair, she rocks. Great conversation with her and everyone else in the place. I went in with some instructions and pictures of how I wanted my hair and beard cut. Sarah knocked it out of the park. I love Barbershop Denim! You walk into the shop and you're immediately drawn into the atmosphere. Everything from the original artwork, music and professional staff makes your experience perfectly enjoyable. I rarely wait, but when I do I always have a complementary drink to sip on and a cool show to watch on the TV. I go to Keith for my haircut and for 50 dollars it's a great deal for a fantastic women's haircut in the city. Can't say enough about how great this place is!read more

I was welcomed by Eve (who took my temperature and offered me a selection of beverages). I was a little early for my appointment, but Keith was ahead of schedule and got me in the chair prior to my appointment time. I gave him free rein on what to do with my hair and he gave me a layered bob that looks amazing! I've been walking around touching my hair for the last 24 hours! Also working were Chris and Brian and they were incredibly friendly and welcoming as well. The waiting area decor is beautiful; the bathroom was sparkling; the whole experience was great! I was never a "barber shop" guy. I travel the country for a living. I can very rarely get my hair cut in the same place twice. When I travel to a metropolitan area, I do what everybody else does, I Google the elements of the salon/barbershop I am looking for, look at the websites and make a selection. I rolled the dice and chose Barbershop Denim due to the slick website, the ability to schedule online and the apparent cool, urban vibe. (I’m going to use ‘vibe’ more in this review…)I am truly hoping that my schedule allows me to make Barbershop Denim my barber of choice…Aryah was superlative in skill and professionalism. Engaging but not cloying, organically conversational but not obliviously chatty. Just respected her approach and mindset so much. And, sincerely, I’ve NEVER liked my haircut more!I opted for the hot shave, too. And when the gentlemen, who I believe is the head barber/owner, noticed I was going for the relaxing hot shave, indicated to the front desk to change the music from rock to some appropriate groovy-pop, 60’s funk chill vibe, that made my experience even sweeter. Wow! Most people do NOT make those kinds of adjustments or considerate concessions for their clients.I’ve suffered through too many haircuts in my life in barbershops that were too loud, too abrasive, too vulgar and, just too much, with barbers who paid very little attention to my preferences and acted is if they were bored tossing a salad, rather than expertly assessing and trimming my hair. I’m on stage and on camera quite a bit. The hair has to be workin’!The staff was gracious in another way, to another visitor to the shop. I have rarely seen this kind of chill, accepting vibe in business, and to disclose what they did would be inappropriate. Let’s just say they handled themselves like the class acts they are!Truthfully, I hope, on all my travels, I can make Barbershop Denim my new spot for looking my best!Thanks Aryah and Staff!read more

I'm new to Philadelphia and needed a quick haircut. I was able to get in same-day. Jason, who works the front desk, gave me a quick call to confirm and offered a drink on arrival. Cut by Aryah. She and the other staff were extremely friendly, good conversation, great cut that was exactly what I asked for. Waiting area is relaxing and comfortable — though a little tight if multiple people are waiting. Shop is cash only but ATM ($2 fee) is in the back. Overall, very pleased.
