I have seen Nick several times. He knows his craft well and is always very personable and friendly. I went for haircuts and shaves and I was very satisfied with the results everytime. Far and away the best haircut I have received on the Island. Chase cut my hair and was very attentive, precise, and friendly. He ensured the cut was what I wanted at each step and topped it all off with a straight razor shave on my neck.The shop was beautiful. The rest of the staff was very nice. This barber has an excellent barber and that spent a lot of time making sure that the cut looked good. Her attention to detail is as good as any barber I have ever visited. I really got the sense that she cares and it showed with the quality of the cut. Highly recommend and I will be back.read more

Having to work from home since March and not able to get my haircut at my usual place in Manhattan finally decided to do some research and find a place on LI. I have to say, everything I read about this place online was right on the money. Great place. Clean, professional, and friendly. What more can you ask for?Booking online was a breeze. Did not know any of the barbers so randomly ended up seeing Kane. He listened to what I wanted, made some great suggestions and I could not be happier. Will def be returning. Here is hoping the state will allow for a nice straight razor shave soon so I can try that out there too.read more

Started going here because Mike C was added to their roster. He's been cutting my hair for about 2 years now. I follow him wherever he goes. Really one of the best and always has me looking great no matter what I ask for. Go there ask for Mike C. I have been getting my Hair Cut and Shaved by Mike Coyne for a few years now...Highly recommend him, he is always great and listened to what you need done and also will recommend what he thinks would look good on you. He is great with my son, who has sensory issues. He was one of the first people to cut his hair. My son is 9 now! He is patient with kids and takes his time to give kids and “adult” haircut, not just a “kid” cut. He even trimmed my 3 year old daughter’s hair! While the world is recovering from a pandemic, many people are nervous about going out to get their basic grooming needs taken care of. This place is great! Mike Coyne has been cutting my hair as well as my kids hair for years. He always does a fantastic job and is awesome with the kids. One of them he’s been cutting since age 3 and the other since 8 months old. It’s so hard to find a great barber who knows what they’re doing but we’ve found one in Mike. After going to a barber close to home for 15 years I decided to make a change and I couldn't be happier! I've been to Gold Coast twice now and each time the attention to detail has been phenomenal! Finding a good barber on LI for the past several years has been like pulling teeth. I've been to dozens across the island and have never really walked away satisfied.This is it. The Gold Coast Barbers are some of the friendliest and most authentic barbers that I have ever been to. I booked my first appointment with them the day before my wedding, as crazy as that sounds. They did a phenomenal job and I have been going here ever since. I highly recommend Chase Nelson as he has done a phenomenal job every single time. They are extremely friendly and always greet you at the door with a smile. Ronnie is great. He did an excellent job with a scissor cut for a medium length hairstyle, explained what he was doing along the way to seek my feedback, and suggested products to maintain my desired style. Overall a very pleasant experience, one of the best haircuts I’ve received. Quite frankly, it’s pricey at $50 (tip included) for just a haircut, though I hope the haircut is with the intention to come in less often because your hair should look cleaner for longer as it’s growing out in between visits.read more

This place has restored my faith in barbers for long hair. 10/10!(Long Review continued)I basically had Quarantine 2.0 hair, and my hair was getting really annoying.I've avoided barbers in LI and NYC after many bad experiences where they just ignore my requests and cut my hair too short. So I've generalized most barbers only know how to cut short hair, or buzz cut, due to it being the most popular kind of men's haircut.Did a quick Google search for "Men's Long/Medium Haircut Long Island" and this place came up in a Reddit thread.After reading a few of the comments, I was feeling good, and decided to go. I thought to myself, "I'll ask for a bit longer, worst case scenario, I'll have my wife clean it up if I don't like it."I get there without an appointment, and I waited maybe 5 minutes before they took me.I ended up with a barber named Mike. We chatted for a bit initially, trying to communicate what kind of a hair cut I wanted. It was rather quick, but we seemed to be in agreement.I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation throughout, the haircut flew by. I am quite pleased with how he handled my hair, feels much lighter and way more mangeable, and still kept the length I requested.I think the main issue I've had at other places is, the barbers in the past didn't care enough to talk to their customers.But Mike, I commend him for his professionalism, his customer service, and honestly he was just a great person to talk with.I will definitely come back when I need a trim.You guys just got a new returning customer.read more

I have been struggling to find an awesome barber for myself and my three year old. Most barbershops don’t listen and you walk out with the same haircut as everyone else, no matter what you say. Furthermore most shops are clueless when you don’t want your hair buzzed. Not these guys. They are masters of their craft. Gentle with kids. Use layering techniques.
