A good skin fade is hard to come by, so I initially came to Fresh Kills based on a recommendation for Alexa. After the first cut I was convinced, and continue to return weekly for the consistency, professionalism, and great people. Both a review and a thanks to Lex for always providing the best cut. Really nice ambiance and vibe. Blonde dude not that talented and seems demotivated. When he gave me a line up he didn’t wet my skin to make it supple before using a razor. I’m not sure why he thought it wouldn’t give me a rash but using. Straight razor on dry skin is not good. The receptionist was also friendly. Not coming back. 30$ haircutread more

Great find for me as a bearded bald man. They definitely know how to trim my beard and offered some products without the hard sell. Even the trainee did a great job on my beard.

I never thought I could be emotionally moved in a barber shop. My son is 4 and has a sensory issue to buzzers, so much that we haven’t cut his hair in months. Marvin was truly impressive in how he earned his trust. He went from scared and crying, to allowing him to use the buzzer! He took well over 30 mins of his time to get him to let his guard down but it worked! I feel like I witnessed a miracle. I took my grandson to see Gi at Fresh Kills and Gi was absolutely amazing with him. The haircut was adorable, but the experience was so pleasant and easy. We booked and paid on line, and Gi was ready when we arrived. Gi was beyond patient and warm. If you have ever taken a 362 day old for a haircut, you know it can go wrong quickly, but our experience today was completely right. It’s so nice to have a child-friendly shop on the north shore and not have to schlep to the Outerbridge area.read more

This is your barbershop.If you have been going elsewhere you went to the wrong place.Came here for a beard trim and shapeup, and was impressed at Marvin’s skill.Jackie, Bill and all the other staff are great. The 3 named here come recommended by friends who always look sharp, so I downloaded the Booksy and gave Fresh Kills a try.You should too if you haven’t. You won’t be disappointed.(Be mindful that the place is busy, so you should book in advance.)Came in with a scraggly, overgrown beard and poorly shaven head… kinda looked like a prisoner, beard was dry and thick, and my eyes are not completely level, which presents its own challenge lining my face up.Left looking like a new person. Marvin took off minimal hair as requested, shaped and leveled my beard nicely, and gave some good advice when I asked how far up to shave.Environment is a vibe as well… always funny conversation going, Retro arcade machines and refreshments in the back, coffee in the front…I’ll be back here every month to tame this thing growing off my face.Thank you, Fresh Kills!read more

There is nowhere else we would consider going. It is the Cheers of barbershops. My boys enjoy coming here for every appointment, always greeted warmly and engaged in great conversation.
