Description

Crescent Barbershop in Long Island City was established in 2017 serving both men and children. The provide basic traditional hairstyles, along with more trendy looks. They will ask questions throughout the cut to make sure you end up with the exact look you want. The staff wants you have a satisfying experience. They also do beard trims/lineups and old fashioned hot shaves. The shaves are a pampering experience with hot towel treatments before and after, followed by a cucumber massage cream and cleansing cream that is massaged to the face for the extra relaxation. Friendly, comfortable, and clean environment.

I’ve been a regular customer here for a while, but today was a huge disappointment. With a performance review coming up in a few days, I needed a clean, sharp haircut to look my best. I asked for a fade from skin to 1mm and a trim on top, even showing a reference photo to make sure there was no confusion.Unfortunately, the older barber completely ignored my request and shaved all the sides down to the skin. By the time I realized what was happening, it was too late to intervene. I was frustrated but kept my emotions in check.This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied. I won't be returning, and now I’m left wondering how my appearance might affect the impression I make during my review.read more

Used to come here regularly but the last two haircuts have been some of the worst I’ve ever had. Avoid the guy on the weekends. Can’t do a fade and so obviously uneven that people have been pointing it out to me. Will look for a new shop.read more

Whatever you do, avoid the older guy.I had him cut my hair twice. I thought the first time I didn't communicate well (although I showed him a 360 video of exactly what I want), so I gave him another chance. Second time, he gave me worst cut of my life.I should have known he's terrible by the fact that when I walked in the second time, there were five or six people in line waiting for the other two barbers and he was just chilling on his phone.He may be a nice guy, but knows nothing about cutting hair.Both times, he finished the cut under 5 minutes and left me a lot of uneven spots. It's not just bad, but it's hilariously had.Just take my word and save yourself from wearing a hat until your hair grows out again.read more

After doing some research around my neighborhood, this place had a 4.5 stars… I took the chance because I was in a pinch and my barber had no availability. Was in and out within 30 min, which was great because I was on a time crunch. But it was weird because I didn’t tell him to rush and he did anyways. Haircut came out crooked, bald spots in certain parts… will never be coming here again. Guy can’t even do a fade correctly. That is ridiculous. For a barber to rush through a client, at least make sure it comes out right. Barber didn’t care about a returning client. Just wanted to go to the next. You lost me on this one..read more

The woman here did not take my direction at all and cut my hair much shorter than I wanted, giving me a different hairstyle than I asked for.The whole time she was arguing with me telling me that it's going to look good. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but I grew out my hair. I had a photo shoot planned for this weekend. I went in and asked just to clean up my hair and not to cut it really. If there’s split ends get rid of it but I want the length. They cut it so short. I can’t do the photo shoot. Friends commenting that I got rid of the long hair. That’s how much he cut off. I wish I had said something during the act but I’m very much let the professional do his job. Usually I don’t care. It’s just hair. But I’m so upset I had been growing out my hair awhile and this will set it back a couple months. I just can’t trust to come back here. They are capable barbers. But they just didn’t listen this time.read more

DO NOT GO HERE. The guy at the front as you enter the store is a professional fool. I show him a picture of what I want and I end up with a very short haircut with no proper fade on the side.If you want a very basic haircut, they can do it, but nothing more. He barely took 15 mins and very little attention to detail and no shape up on the sides.I’m in LIC and I didn’t feel like going to King of Queens in Astoria, which is great and I’m going to make the trip up next time. Overrated rip-off places that charge $50 like Otis and Finn aren’t worth it either.*Response to owner: you are correct about the sides but I DID NOT ASK YOU TO CUT MY HAIR THAT SHORT ON THE TOP. I have no length on the top to style it and it will take 3 MONTHS MINIMUM to grow back. You ruined my hair just admit it. I really hope you learn from this. I still tipped you. Decent barbershop near where I live with best prices in the area, have gotten some good cuts here. Cash only. The comments on here are true, one of the barbers isn’t as good as the other two, his cuts are often uneven up top. I think it has to do with him not using a comb when trimming the top of your hair. The other two guys are great. I don’t think this place takes appointments for specific barbers so you always have to take the next available barber and it’s too awkward to turn the not-as-good-one down.read more

I have gone to this barbershop at least five times now because it is near to my home. I'm terribly sorry to say that the older guy messed up my hair on three occasions. He is a great person, always on point and does his job neat and tidy. But the hair is always a mess.He gave me a regular cut and when I went home, I could see that there are so many irregularities. The hair was so much uneven. Every time I go into this shop, I don't have guts to reject this guy. But sadly, I'm going to go to another barber shop next time.read more

The two younger guys give great haircuts. Do not, and I repeat- DO NOT go to the older guy for your cut whatsoever. I’ve never gotten a single good cut from this guy despite giving it a chance twice. I show this guy a picture of a cut and every single time he manages to screw it up. Took my friend to get a cut here, and for some reason its always the older guy that I end up with. My friend asked for a side and back fade with 2 inches off the top. Fade is nowhere to be seen. I’m officially done with this place.read more

The barber was unprofessional and not detail-oriented! I got a haircut that was completely different from what I showed the barber. After I went back home and washed my hair, I found it like a zigzag. I would rate 0 if I can. One of the worst haircut I have gotten in the past of my life. I went here two times and somehow both times I walked out with a terrible haircut that I didn't like at all. I paid almost double what I would pay in the Bronx yet got a way more inferior cut. I even gave a picture of what it was supposed to look like to the guy and tried to help guide the barber during the cut but it was no use. The man didn't even touch my mustache and goatee/beard in the front. I walked away with a failed taper and very awkward length hair. I'm giving them two stars because at least they did a semi-decent lineup. Definitely will not be visiting again.read more
