The appointment process:As a new client, I could not have asked for a better or easier experience. I booked online and received an email confirmation which was followed up by a Cotter associate calling to review my appointment details, let me know they were a cash only establiment, and inform me a mask was required for all hair services (if I didn't have a mask meeting CDC guidelines they would provide one). Off the bat, they demonstrated a VERY professional appointment set-up process to ensure my time at thier shop was efficient and avoided any surprises.The barber/stylist:Alexandr was the barber/stylist I chose online with zero insights about his skill or ability. All I can say is his experience was beyond expectation. I explained how I was growing my hair/where I like my fade lines, and he took it from there. He was very professional and focused on the cut with minimal talking, unless I chatted first which I respect a lot. Especially since the first cut is essentially a first impression.The results:Alexandr gave me the best skin fade I've had ever since my last barber of over 10 years had moved out of state over 6 years. Alexandr nailed it the first time in his chair with his exceptional clipper/comb and scissors expertise. I definitely found my go-to barber! I went here for the first time today after deciding I should treat myself to a more "high end" cut ($50) after growing my hair out for ~8 months. I'm incredibly glad I did. I had a truly unruly head of hair walking in and only a vague idea of what I wanted. I spoke with Jeff (my barber, not a random man) for a couple of minutes to help me figure it out and he gave me a superb cut. If you Google "Ryan Reynolds new haircut," that's kinda what mine looks like...just on a significantly less attractive man. On the way out, I also grabbed a cold brew which was delicious. Just had my first cut here - my barber and my barista were both great. The space was clean and I felt comfortable with the health precautions here. My barber patiently looked through my reference photos and talked through my preferences with me. He was able to articulate them back to me in a way that made me feel comfortable and confident that he could give me a haircut I would like, which is the most important part of the experience to me. He went to work and nailed it. I'll definitely be back. The coffee is good too! The barista was quick and kind, and it was nice to be able to get a good coffee all in the same space.read more

Listen, love you guys. The haircut, the staff ...everything is top tier. BUT. You really can't be cash only when you have items on your menu that are greater than 80 dollars...thats a lot of cash to carry around. It comes across as sketchy. I was looking for a new barber and just happened to walk past Cotter Barbershop. The decor and the friendly barbers made it an easy sell for me. I’ve been coming to see Ryan for the past month and a half he’s wonderful. His cuts are precise, detailed, and swift. He’s great with the razor and his hot towel treatment is top notch. He makes sure you get exactly what you want. But he’s also personable and a true gentleman it’s a pleasure being in his chair. The staff at Cotter are professional you walk into the barbershop you will see it for yourself. Also the decor and in house coffee shop are a great addition to make you feel comfortable and at ease while getting your routine haircut. Cotter Barbershop is well worth experiencing.read more

Just started going to Jay a few months ago after years 10 years with barber in a different neighborhood. I was nervous to make the switch, but Jay is the best and gives a sharp cut every time. It's nice to be able to make a reservation too. All the benefits of a modern establishment, but still with the charm and tradition of an old school shop. One of the best cuts I've ever gotten. Not only that, this was the first time I've ever had a barber make suggestions during the cut. I asked for a close fade on the side, but he pointed out that my hair would sit flatter if there was a taper; he showed me a "rough draft" and assured me we could do it my way if I preferred. My 4yo has gone twice in the past couple of months for his first haircut, and then his second. They’ve done an amazing job both times! First cut was from long hair to a cute surfer do, then from the regrowth to the even shorter cut. They’re amazingly patient and listen to what you want to do! It's a beautifully decorated shop that is adorned with vintage barber stools and shelves from an old Post office. However, cute decor doesn't justify $50 for a simple men's haircut. My barber was nice and the cut was fine, it's just not worth that much money. I came here because my regular shop down the street was closed. Will probably avoid this place in the future.read more

Been getting my beard trimmed here lately by Angel. He is professional and does a great job. I highly recommend this place if you’ve got an event coming up and are trying to shape up properly or if you’re just a baller who likes to drop $45 to keep your beard looking sharp. The price point is a bit steep but they trim to your liking and they clean up everything else with a straight razor. They’ll even give you a drink while you wait or while you’re getting trimmed up. There’s ample space in a somewhat rustic-chic decor for a relaxing ambiance. Tim, Timmy, silent killer T (dude with the hat in my vid)… he’s the gentleman at the end with the old fashion stash. Very little words but he asks the right questions. I needed a quick fade before a highend event and I just got in from DC. I held my breath when I walked in but when Tim finished I was so impressed. He took his time and ended up with a master piece.
