I had an appointment with Sam for a much needed haircut after growing out a fully shaved head and it was the best, most finely executed short haircut I’ve ever had. The way he cut the back of my head, close cut, pristinely trimmed - I’ve never had such perfection even at a fancy salon.read more

Sam is hands down the best barber in the area. Together with my two sons we have been regular clients for almost two years and we always received the best service. Don’t take my word for it, go see for yourself and you will not be disappointed!I would also like to add that safety measures are in place and create a safe environment not only now due to COVID-19, but always have been there. Mark and the team are amazing here! I moved back to the city about 2 years ago and have gone to an assortment of barbers, stylists and salons (from $20 to $200). I highly recommend this establishment, Mark and his team of barbers offer quality services. Within our Covid 19 world, appointments are mandatory, plexiglass glass screens are in place, all shaving and hair cutting ( gear ?) are repeatedly disinfected. It's not easy, but Mark and his team maintain a safe environment.read more

I've been getting my haircut from Cesar for years and when I learned that he moved to Blades & Cuts, I jumped at the opportunity to see him.I live in Brooklyn, and while there are plenty of places near me, the monthly trip to see Cesar on the Upper East Side is SO worth it!Cesar is an artist. He listens, he takes his time, and he makes sure that everything is trimmed and shaped to perfection. There is a reason why I go back and see him every 4 weeks!As a barber shop, Blades & Cuts is great -- warm and welcoming, friendly and spotless. Mark and team are just fantastic. They are super friendly and very welcoming. I started going during COVID for a beard shave and they were very safe and friendly. Been going regularly since and the whole set of services are great. I did the royal shave, mini facial and haircut before my wedding and it was the most relaxing part of the wedding week! Felt like a king the day before my weddingAlso - online scheduling - huge benefit! Much easier for me to plan my week via their scheduling.read more

I have tried to go to many different barbers throughout my life, but Blades & Cuts has been the best barbershop I have ever been to. Mark is particularly wonderful (the others are great too I'm sure, but that's who I go to for my own haircuts). I have a cowlick, but he takes great care to level / spike up the front of my hair to make sure the cowlick doesn't predominate. Always asks if there's anything else that I want, and always willing to modify as requested. Very nice gentleman and I genuinely look forward to my haircuts. Great for big occasions as well!read more

Blades & Cuts is the only place you should be getting a haircut if you're on the upper east side! They really are a neighborhood establishment & make you feel right at home.Mark & the team are truly masters of their craft. I have had many people in my life cut my hair & really struggled to find a place I was happy with when I first moved to UES. To this day I have only been happy with two people who have cut my hair. My hair stylist back home in California & Sam who I regularly book with at blades and cuts. Sam shapes me up perfect every time with out fail. The first time I came in I didn't know how explain what I wanted so I showed him a picture and he got it exactly right (3 blended up for those wondering).You will not find a better place to get a hair cut on the UES than blades & cuts I promise. The price, the quality of the cut, & how I am treated as a customer is unmatched. I am greeted as if I have been a regular for multiple years (probably have been going for a year now). They do a great job of getting to know everyone who comes in and having conversations with them. At the same time if you're some one like me who is little more quiet and likes hair cuts in silence they make me feel comfortable doing just that. They are all friendly people that put the best effort in their work & are awesome to get to know.Mark if your reading this you're awesome & please let sam know I really do mean it when I tell him its perfect every time!read more

I have been to many professional barbers over the years, but nobody cuts my hair better than Mark. The team members here are all truly exceptional. Mark gets to know each of his customers on a personal level, and has an uncanny ability to memorize every specific preference for each of his customers. He is a pleasure to chat with, and really gets to know you like a friend. Every time I sit down for a new haircut, we pick up right where we last left off, with Mark somehow remembering every detail!
