Description
York Barber Shop in the heart of Manhattan’s Upper East Side is a truly authentic old school barber shop established in 1928. It’s a small shop with a lot of history. Used in the filming of Woody Allen’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel". Call or make an appointment online. They also take walk-ins, where the wait times usually aren’t bad, but depends on demand. They have skilled professionals to provide traditional haircuts, as well as contemporary and trendy styles. Their services also include: straight razor shaves with soothing and relaxing hot towels, creams, and facial massages. Their barbers are friendly and the decor makes it feel like the traditional shop it is.

I’ve been going to York for over 3 years and have always had a positive experience. My previous barber has since moved on, however I now get haircuts by Maru and she’s a true professional. Note, it’s a bit pricey for a haircut but I still consider it to be worth it. I visited this week and fully appreciate the enhanced cleaning, health and safety measures York has implemented. This is without a doubt the best barbershop I've visited.I was searching for a place that did classic haircuts, and I read about this on google. I set up an appointment easily, and was able to book something for the same day. The gentleman that cut my hair is named Patricio, and he's an excellent barber. He took his time and ensure that I had the best haircut possible. I walked in looking like a 100 bucks and walked away looking like a million.Great staff, great atmosphere, I can not recommend this place enough.read more

My fiancé introduced me to this Barber shop a year and a half ago and have been coming back ever since. All the employees are so warm they make everyone feel like family. Once you go York you can’t go back. This business is run perfect, Enrique is one of the best small business owners in NYC and Lolita is the best and gives me a great haircut. Such amazing service and perfect Quality of a haircut they were able to take my two children in with a last minute appointment. They even brought out an iPad to help my 3 year old stay still. I will definitely be coming back.10/10 five stars is not enough but I guess it will doread more

Nice local barber shop in the heart of the UES. Loren is great. Very professional. This place has a soul. Been there for many years, and they never disappoint. You should book in advance to avoid waiting. Many celebrities are coming to York Barber shop as many pictures on the wall will tell you. $40 for a haircut is very decent in the city. Totally worth it.read more

ENRIQUE was my barber when he first opened the shop some 30 years ago. In time, I started going to my wife's beauty parlor which recently closed. I went back to Enrique who remembered me. I remembered how much I liked going to a men's barber shop rather than a beauty salon. I love the way Enrique cuts my hair and I much prefer the culture of guys for this activity that only takes 15 minutes.read more

I am someone who is very particular about my hair, and very loyal when I find a good barber. Moving to the city from across the country, this was one of my stressors. I have to say it’s been incredible.Alex has been my barber twice now. Though a little hesitant when I initially told him how low to start the fade (everyone always asks “are you sure” when I tell them step start at a 0), but he fantastic. So meticulous with the cut, so careful with the blade clean ups, best beard trim I’ve ever had. I have never had such a fantastic experience. It is worth every penny and I look forward to my haircuts. I am even saving up for one of the more extensive packages!read more
