Best place in State College for a haircut. Emily was great, and very easy to communicate with. They pay for your parking meter if you have an appointment, and will do free neck clean-ups between haircuts. Haircuts come with a hot towel and shampoo.read more

Awesome place to get a haircut!!! I just moved to this area back in July and needed to find a place to get my haircut. I decided to try out The Gentleman’s Salon based on reviews. The owner, Emily, cuts my hair and does a great job every time. This is coming from someone that is picky about how well a hair stylist can actually cut a zero fade (Military style haircut). This place is located near campus so it can get busy. I suggest making an appointment online through their website. I haven’t had any issues with it (just make sure you follow the instructions). If you make an appointment, you get seen at your appointment time and don’t have to wait to be seen.read more

Clara did an excellent job, really good attention to detail and gave a great haircut. Also, they paid for my parking and gave me a hot towel facial with shampooing and conditioning. Highly recommended! I’ll be coming back!read more

*EDIT AND UPDATE*I initially came in to the salon and had a picture of a haircut I wanted. It wasn't really looked at and I left the salon with a result (back of my hair) I wasn't happy with and assumed this salon didn't know how to handle Asian men's hair. Not necessarily the case. My initial cut could've been better with more careful communication on both ends.After I left my initial 3-star review, the owner Emily, offered to fix my haircut in an way that she could. She even took me at my earliest convenience. A couple text messages and a fix up later, I got a result I was pretty happy with. She even addressed a concern I had with my hair that I didn't even bring up, and fixed it for me. That was extremely sweet of her to do.Professional and courteous, I highly recommend Emily and her expertise when it comes to cutting hair. Initially I was not happy. But after the promised fix-up, the back of my hair looks a lot better, more balanced and should grow out nicely.read more

One of the best haircuts I've ever gotten. All the staff seemed very friendly. I'm not sure who cut my hair but she did a great job communicating and helping me get a haircut that I would be happy with. I didn't really know what I wanted to do with my hair but she was very patient and made sure I was happy with everything. The best part though was the fact that my girlfriend liked it so much she started crying. I would definitely recommend The Gentleman's Salon.read more

They do an above average job cutting hair, but my bangs have been too long both times I've gone. You'll spend over $20. They have quarters for the metered parking outside at least. The ladies in there are professional and nice to talk to.read more

I have had my haircut by Kiarra multiple times since I moved here in January and I have been thoroughly satisfied with both the service and the haircut each time. First time I went I didn't realize it was by appointment only, however someone had canceled right before I arrived.Couple things to note, the parking out front is very limited and very tight, be wary arriving in a large vehicle. There are meters for parking, but the salon offers quarters so you don't have to remember yourself each time.Masks are required, hand sanitizer and water are provided, and getting your hair washed is provided with the cut, unlike many other places (Sportsclips).Scheduling an appointment is super easy and only takes a minute through their website. As someone who hates making phone calls, this is very much appreciated.read more

Always a pleasant experience here. They give free quarters so u don’t have to worry about parking. Nice cut and hair wash from Suzanne. It’s my go to place for a hair cut in SC. Can also get a nice coffee after at Sowers harvest cafe!read more

They have really good stylists who are patient and will explain possible styles for you to try and then will remember you next time to see how it went and provide input based on that. The heated towels they use when washing your hair are so relaxing also.read more

This was my first time at TGS. My stylist was Megan, and the overall customer experience along with the haircut was great.At first hand, you have the option to get your hair shampoo’d (with no additional cost) with a warm face towel.Afterwards, you go and get your haircut and one thing I appreciated with Megan is that she isn’t solely just doing her job, she also wants to connect with the customer as well.I appreciate Megan and her vitality and I hope to come back to this place again. You also have 1 week from your haircut just in case you want to go back and fix things up.read more

I scheduled an appointment here after (somehow) not realizing this was a "man's salon". Regardless, when I got there, it was a pleasant environment. I had an appointment with Brylie, who was the first available (according to the online scheduling thing). She listened to what I wanted, looked at the pictures, and then somehow took exactly what I was imagining and put it onto my head but in a way more flattering way. It looks incredible. I am so impressed. I have been to multiple hair cutting places and described the same haircut, showed the same pictures--- but no one has even come close to executing it as well as Brylie. 10/10read more

I've been seeing Suzanne here for 5 years now, and it's been excellent. My haircuts have always been right (she keeps good notes on my style and changes we've made over the years), and she's incredibly personable. Plus, as far as I can tell, every stylist here is just as friendly and focused on delivering a good cut every time. Appointments are easy to make and have always been on time, and they pay for your metered parking too. Overall, I highly recommend.read more

Suzanne did a wonderful job with my haircut for my grad pictures. Did her best to match the reference images I provided, and offered touch ups in case I needed it. Hair was washed and cleaned as well. $36 for a haircut plus tip is not by any means cheap, but the service may make up for it and state college haircuts are more expensive in general.read more
