We have been regular customers of Sal’s Barbershop for many years. It may sound cliche, but Sal’s Barbershop is consistently a cut above every single time. Douglassville just received a wonderful gift with opening of Sal’s 7th shop. Always a warm and friendly and fun atmosphere. We were walk-ins. My one son saw John right away. Showed him a picture of the cut I wanted, he was fast and it came out amazing. My other son saw, Cj. Even with all the screaming and fighting my son did he was patient and was able to line him up and fade him. Highly recommend them both !read more

The first person to greet us (Owner? Manager?) was not very pleasant. No "Hello" or welcome. Just a "Do you have an appointment?" Fortunately we did. It was for our 2 year old's first official haircut. I made the appointment online, which was very easy. Our barber was excellent! She allowed our son to sit on his mom's lap while I showed him videos so she could cut his hair. She used all kinds of instruments to cut his hair that were quieter and less sharp so they would not cut him if he jerked. When he was done she offered to take a family picture and gave us a certificate for his 1st "big boy" haircut. We will definitely be back!read more

John did an excellent job cutting my hair! He was quick but did not rush and took his time getting it the exact way I wanted. I came in without an appointment and had my hair cut within 20 minutes. I have been taking my kids to Sals for years. We've gone from Royersford, to Boyertown, and now Douglassville (as they've opened shops closer to where we live) both my kids (13 yrs old) and have been in a weird "I don't want to cut my hair (or take care of it)" phase. Today was the day they lost the choice. Both boys got cuts. One from John and one from Safiah-Nye. Both of them look great and shockingly they were both happy with the outcome. We will continue to come to Sal's (as often as I can convince my kids they have to cut their hair) and always recommend it to our friends. Thanks again for the usual great service!read more

Shaun at the barbershop is so very patient when cutting my son’s hair and is overall amazing at what he does! The other barber’s there are just as great and supportive. It makes me happy in knowing that no matter how loud my son may scream and cry during the haircut process, that there is zero judgement and nothing but understanding, patience, compassion and support from all those who work there! $$$$. First tom we at Sal's. People were nice. I'm sorry but it's not a barber shop, just another great clips. I got a basic clipper cut. Shave, beard trim, not even razor around the neck line were offered.$35 bucks plus tips. Nothing wrong with the place or people just not worth the money.read more

The owner of this Barber shop went above and beyond for us today. We were scrambling because we had just got back from vacation and our youngest son Nathan still needed a haircut for his big day starting 5th grade. I was frantically calling places as we were turned down at most walk in salons. I called Sal's in Douglasville and the owner answered. He mentioned they had just closed. He even mentioned his own kids and how they had just gotten haircuts. Despite the fact they were closed he understood my dilemma. He could have said no, but this kind man took my son after hours and gave him an amazing haircut that was even better than expected. My son is so happy to show it off tomorrow at school. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much for your kindness. I will be sure to tell everyone about this Barber shop. My son is three and has autism so haircuts with buzzers and loud sounds can be overwhelming. Also sitting still is a challenge. We’ve had multiple different experiences but today with Erik it was hands down the easiest haircut for both me and my son. He was calm and engaging with my son, and he was confident in his process and rolled with the punches when my son would get uncomfortable or fidgety. He also had an iPad which was great distraction for my son and thoughtful gesture. We have been looking for a new barber after going to our old one for years. Our son is 6 years old. Erik Reyes reached out to us while looking. What made us try him out was his simple kindness and understanding. From the minute we walked into the shop Erik was nothing but kind and a friendly face. He was very talkative to our child and made him feel very comfortable. He has a professionalism we haven’t seen in a a while. He even made sure to reach out again after his cut and thank us for trusting him with our kiddo. The cut was by far the best yet and we will certainly be going back. We have found our new home barbershop with Mr.Erik. If you need a haircut for you or if you have a little one I highly reccomend booking with Erik. He makes you feel comfortable, he is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, he has a great presence and he can cut some hair! Well where do I begin? I started by simply posting on Facebook asking for barber recommendations.... That led me here to ERIK who is an absolute master of his craft! I went from looking like I came out of county, to being someone presentable! I would recommend this spot EVERYTIME! Absolutely my new favorite place for a cut and shave! Took my 4 year old son in earlier today.. Wasn’t sure what to expect or how things were gonna go. As my son does not do well with hair cuts. He has a lot of sensory issues.. With that being said this is always a tough situation for both him & I. Erik greeted us, & was AMAZING! He made the whole experience comfortable for my son. He talked him through things, showed him what he was going to be doing before he did it, asked for permission, & was aware of what was going on the whole time. If my son got uncomfortable he helped calm him down & make the situation better for him. Erik gained himself a new little regular! This has been the best experience! Highly recommend Erik. My husband and I took my father here for his 90th birthday. First, I want to say that my father is an above the knee amputee with some dementia. He needs handicap services which was well provided . I emailed the owner before making his appointment and was addressed to call him ASAP. The owner was amazing and assured me that my father would be in good hands.We were greeted by a nice guy who opened the door for us, that was very helpful. Erik , was my father’s barber. Erik went above and beyond to help my father , and make sure he had a great experience . Hair cut, shave, hot towels, mini facial massage , and his general kindness that would make anyone feel special and want to be sitting in that chair.My dad was very relaxed , and enjoying a beverage at the end .The shop itself is top notch ,with the coolest decor, and welcoming environment - and I’d recommend anyone seek services here.Thank you Erik, and the rest of the staff that we came in contact with. My son and my son-in-law also got their cuts at Sal’s, one in Douglasville and the other in Royersford-I’m sorry I don’t know the names of their stylists.
Point is this…you want a great cut and friendly service, visit Sal’s, ask for Shaun at the Douglasville location. You will be happy you did.
