Description
Persons of Interest Barbershop in the Fort Greene area of Brooklyn, is a really cool styled barber shop with a laid back vibe. What makes this place especially cool, is the boutique record shop on the other side that you browse before or after your cut. Take a seat in some '60s Belmont barber chairs with built-in ashtrays for an expert haircut, beard trim, straight-razor shave or buzz cuts. Although, as a Covid-19 precaution they are currently not providing beard trims or shaves. Listen to some classic music hits and sip on a complimentary beer or soft drink.

Great Barber shop. I’m not sure how they manage to always make my hair look many times better than any typical barbershop, but they do. Alex did a very skillful job and even gave me some great pointers on how to style my hair myself.read more

Laid back and clean environment/vibe with a boutique record shop next door. Free hard and soft drinks. Price is good for a short buzzcut, a bit pricey for any other cut but you do get an awesome result, so worth it.read more

Very good place to visit! Great atmosphere! Friendly staff. Ms. Scott gave me a nice beard trim and she’s gorgeous and kind. The rest of the guys are pretty cool and chill! I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a great cut or whatever! Oh and walk along with a topic in mind to talk about! It gets pretty exciting.read more

Old-school barber shop that will leave you looking good. Have a beer and lower your ears. It’s not going to be the cheapest, but it’s well worth the price.

Great barbershop combined w groovy record shop. Staff are friendly and helpful and the cooler with drinks is a nice touch. But it’s my stylist Julia who keeps me coming back over and over with excellent haircuts, and her laid back, informative, and friendly style. She got me out of my Covid-hair phase prior to my wedding and really helped me perfect my hair.read more

Best barber shop I’ve been to in Brooklyn! I’ve been going to Troy for about 2 years now and he never disappoints. Great attention detail, great service and great conversation. Always on time too, which can be hard to come by at NYC barber shops. The vibe of the shop is also superb - very clean yet still feels homey. Their booking system is also very user-friendly. Here's the deal: This is a review that starts out by saying "I don't normally write reviews...", and if that type of thing isn't your jam, I'd suggest scrolling on. That being said, I am fairly correct in my general assessments, have exquisite taste, and overall the best opinion.It was November of 2022, and I had just wrapped up my year long stint of growing my hair out. Kind of like no-nut November, but for general self-care and overall esteem. In an effort to impress my mother in law (ugh), I needed to chop off my Manson (Charles, not Marilyn) and reenter society. My normal stylist wasn't available (wait... I thought you spent a year without cutting your lovely locks? yes... but that doesn't mean I was a peasant before hand). Anyway... where was I? Oh yeah. Normal stylist was busy - I googled "hippest place for middle age man to get hipster hair cut" and POI was about 9th down.I looked at other reviews to get the vibe (I'm a sheep, what can I say?) and saw a review for the unshakable Danielle B., so I rolled the dice and boy what a Yahtzee it's been ever since.From the moment you walk in the door you know Danielle is there (primarily because the place is like 200 sq feet). Whether you are introverted or extra, Danielle will bring out explicably the best and the worst in you. The best because my hair (again) is perfection, even more so after she trimmed it up, and the worst, because my best is also my worst. I haven't laughed so hard during a haircut since the Bush administration (the Dad not the 9/11 guy).Kind, eccentric, skilled - Danielle is hands down the best of the best. I didn't know that day I found my new stylist when I walked in that fateful November - but the universe has a funny way of working itself out (don't worry, my previous stylist is alive - he's a friend, so it's okay I don't give him money).Anyway... so where was I going? Oh yeah. Go to POI. Get Danielle (or get someone else, I'm sure they don't hire horrible people), and get ready to get your face blown off (with a hairdryer).End review.xxread more

Been here a few times now and absolutely love it. Music is excellent. Everyone is super calm and kind. I’ve been matched up with different barbers every time (just cause my schedule is so funky) and every one of them has been truly awesome. Top notch cuts that also provide wonderful hospitality. As you wait you're welcomed by a drink and a cozy seat. Each location has a sick sound system making it easy to relax before you get to the chair. The professionals here provide in-depth services like shampooing, straight shaves and hot towels. The price is indicative of the quality, and I'm happy to frequent this establishment as I always feel the value!read more
