Description
The Ledo barber shop has a very nice traditional interior with high quality master barbers. The owner, Ledo, is a very polite, professional, and soft spoken man. He is highly skilled in his craft, and seems to really enjoy what he does and interacting with customers. They will also do haircuts for kids, ages 5 & up. You can walk-in, but appointments are usually a better option. Cash only.

The decor is amazing with original flooring and wood cabinets dating back to the 1800s. I’d been looking for a barber for a while since I had gotten tired of trekking down to the LES to get a good haircut, and also had gotten tired of paying $100 plus tip for 20 minutes of cutting. Enter Ledo. He and his barbers are no-nonsense and supremely talented. They get you in, cut your hair, get you out. Went to LEDO's for the first time after 2 months without a personal haircut. They're taking all the precautions from wearing masks, gloves, sanitizing the chair, UV light on the brushes and equipment, to not overcrowding. Had an appointment with the man himself, LEDO. If you need a barber who listens and pays attention to every detail of the cut, Ledo is definitely the man you need! I asked him for a specific cut with certain details from photos, and it took him a second to process it and make it work with my hair. From that I can tell he is a very experienced barber. Pros:Nice enough place. And one of the better cuts I've gotten. They get a new Razor for you, hot towel and put product in your hair.Cons:The cost of a basic cut is 35$. They only take cash. For this they lost a star. It's the 21st century. Take Venmo something. But they will let you pay the next day. LEDO is exactly what this neighborhood needed! Great cuts with a friendly staff. On one occasion they didn't have an opening until the following day. I asked Ledo to call me if someone cancelled. These guys are great at what they do. When the pandemic hit, John Allens went out of business in midtown. This place, which is just one subway stop away in LIC, didn’t. That sort of says it all. You go here when you must have your hair cut well. There won’t be a beverage, and there might be a line. So be it.read more

Been going to Cesar for years. Always happy with his work. Had a pretty funky haircut from someone else, so I only go to Cesar. But man a 60% price increase over 6 years. Best barber shop I have ever found - by far. I have been going to Ledo for 5 years. Friendly neighborhood barbershop vibe and very inclusive. You can't go wrong with any of the barbers , but Cesar is try go-to. Gives the best fades, is meticulous with his work, and very friendly. I really appreciate the fact that you can book appointments, and I have never had to wait more than about 4-5 minutes. I can't recommend Ledo - Art of the Barber any higher. Note: This is a cash only barber shop, but there is a Chase ATM around the corner and an ATM in the shop; Plan accordingly.read more

I recently walked into a local barber shop. I’ve passed by it a few times and really needed a cut; it seemed like they were experienced barbers who would have no issues with a fade. I was able to get into a chair right away, but then a noticeable language barrier emerged when I sat down, making me consider leaving. Since I had a feeling I was not going to like the result but felt awkward and with the cape already on, I proceeded despite my reservations.The language challenge persisted, hindering effective communication of my preferences. Though I initially requested a high fade, I found it challenging to convey my expectations, leading to a different outcome.The final result significantly differed from what I envisioned, no fade and the beard lineup without a straight blade (at $60, I expected a cleaner lineup). Despite the challenges, I acknowledge that she did her best.In summary, at $60, the overall experience definitely fell short of expectations.I suggest elsewhere if you’re looking for a fade, this seems like more like one of those places where you tell them what numbers you want on the sides and top .read more
