I'm always getting a haircut by Luis or Elmer. Both are AMAZING barbers and always have me coming out with a great haircut. The entire team in the shop are great. Another thing that stands out compared to other shops I've been is they always offer you water or espresso when you walk in. Absolutely love this place! My boyfriend has been going here for about 3 years. He’s gotten his hair done by almost everyone there and his hair always comes out great! My boyfriend gets bored easily with hairstyles so everyone there is always helping him change it up! He always comes back home so happy after leaving there. I have also have had the pleasure of being able to go myself! I’ve had my hair blown out there on two different occasions by the two girls who work there, Jaime & Day. The ambiance is awesome, the music is always the best, and the funny conversations there are like no other! I wish Jax was a cafe because I can spend all day there. I have been going to JAX Chop Shop for my haircuts and trims for 2 to 3 years now, and this place definitely has some great customer service and solid barbers! They were in a smaller place next door initially, and due to the rising popularity of this barber shop, they moved to a larger place next door!I always get my haircut from Luis and he consistently does a great job. He always takes his time and prides himself on the details, so that alone keeps me coming back. The staff and other barbers are very nice, as they always ask me if I need a drink, coffee, or espresso while waiting. There are always good conversations going on while I am here!For reservations, make sure you use the app Booksy to book your appointment with a specific barber. Walking in can be tough as many of the barbers end up having a packed schedule. You can tell most of the barbers here have many regular clients, and for Luis, I am one of them!read more

Amazing set of barbers that they have here. Super easy to make an appointment through the Booksy app and you are welcomed as soon as you walk in. After not getting a haircut for a decade I was shocked to see what haircuts had come to cost (different shops than this). This is a well-priced shop, and I feel like I'm getting value for the cost. I really appreciate the aesthetic and everyone working there is very friendly. I barely have to show/describe what I want and they're ready to go. It can be tough to park near here, so account for that when timing your visit. So far I've not had to wait unreasonable times with an appointment, nor have I seen anyone in the shop having to do so.read more

I have an Oster Classic 76 and cut my own hair, but still feel a bit iffy about doing my own beard. I'm working on the "yeard" and don't want to mess it up, and the first time I trimmed it myself I wasn't entirely thrilled with the results. I've been here twice, each time it was a different person working on me, and each time the person was great. They don't overdo it, and they give good advice as well for your own grooming in between visits. Nice friendly service, and great results. Pretty cool spot, too, plus nothing to complain about the pricing. I guarantee, if I didn't cut my own hair, I'd choose to get it done here as well. I'm quite confident that they would of course do a far better job than I can, too. Lol!Recommended!read more

BEARDSMEN REJOICE!!!! Last night I got a haircut from a barber who... actually knows beards (*Gasp*). About half of the gentlemen who work JAX Chop Shop have beards themselves. Also, they sell Maestro and (sometimes) Detroit Grooming Co. products. This place is great. Came in for first time, place seems to be really relax and cool. Everybody friendly! Place was pretty busy to the point where i was in and out in 15 minutes. Barber did decent job, missed few spots where i had to fix it at home. Felt my cut was rushed where it went down with quality. Due to trying it out for first time, probably wont be back. This was by the best experience I have had while getting a cut.First, the owner took me last minute as I came in without a reservation which I really appreciated since I have an event tonight. He did not have to do that. Luis at Jax Chop Shop is the most, kind, welcoming, caring, amazing human. He truly took his time with my cut to make sure it was perfect. He even asked for the photo of my cut and had it displayed to make sure it matched! After he was finished he noticed my hair went a awkward way, he added more time (when he was free) for me to come back the same day and to fix it!I thought to myself wow, he is truly making sure I leave here happy and that I feel supported and confident when I left. My barber was Luis he has such an amazing personality which makes him very easy going to talk to. The shop alone it located in a good area and inside the shop are always good vibes. All the barbers are great people and do great work at what they do which is why many of their customers and I always come back. I’d definitely recommend coming here to get a haircut/ beard trim. They do include much more other then haircuts and beard trims. Last of all they are all super polite with you asking if you’d like a water or a coffee. Luis is perfectionist.! Shows great attention to detail, very careful and precise. I was so upset with a broken haircut from earlier with a different stylist but not anymore after visiting Luis, he worked his magic so well and voila my hair is back to looking just great. I’ll try to make this short. I was in a near fatal accident and spent 5 weeks in the ICU. I got home Monday and needed a haircut to start feeling normal again. Leaving the house is very difficult for me but due to follow ups at the hospital I was out today. I walked in to Jax’s with no appointment. Even though all the barbers were booked all day, Chris took the time to fit me in and accommodate my situation. He let me know that he understood the difficulty and wouldn’t make me come back at another time.
