Fine Shaves and Cuts Barber Shop opened its doors in Center City, Philadelphia, in September 2012. They offer traditional barber shop services are rendered by a highly experienced and licensed barber in a modern setting. Most of their business is from repeat clients and referrals. However, they welcome new clients and opportunities to earn your trust and provide you with an exceptional service in the grooming industry. This place is a well maintained local barbershop. The staff gives decent haircuts. They accept cards as well. Always make an appointment, even though they welcome walk ins, to avoid long wait times.

Ive been coming to this shop for about 5 years now.. This place is the best barber shop in Center City! Roman, Avi and Victoria are awesome barbers and have always been very kind, courteous and welcoming to me every time i come into the shop. Victoria does a great job cutting my hair and even trims my little weirdo disorderly eyebrow hairs when needed... lol I highly recommend this shop. Love this barbershop - I make the drive in from the suburbs and it's worth the drive. Parking not great but I can usually find s spot on the street. My barber is vicki and she's consistently good and attentive. Prices are $30 for men's cuts.read more

I'm not one to write reviews, but this is the one place in the city that deserves a great one. I have been going here religiously just about every three weeks for nearly four years now.In those four years I have gotten a great cut every time without fail. I have gotten cuts by both Romam and Avi and can attest they can are both incredibly receptive to what you want done and will make sure you're happy with the end result. I distinctly remember overhearing someone who was trying to book a quick 10-minute haircut on their lunch break being told they would need to give more time than the 10 minutes they had. As the customer left after booking an appointment, Avi explained that of course he could give someone a haircut in 10 minutes, but neither he or the customer would be happy with the result. That always stuck with me and shows that this shop cares about the service they are delivering above all else, which is rare in any industry.As for the quality of the cuts, I have had a handful of colleagues ask me where I go and they have all come back raving. All in all, I can't recommend this place enough and I can't express how much I appreciate Romam and Avi - especially after a long hiatus of not being able to see them. If nothing else, go in to hear them bust each other's balls for a half hour.read more

Not worth the $40. The online appointment System is great and the barber got me in before my appt because I got there early. However, the haircut I received was TERRIBLE. Will never go back again and really regret leaving a tip. However, it is a nice looking shop.read more

This is probably the only shop i've ever been to where any of the staff can cut your hair and do an excellent job. I usually see Avi, who is great. The atmosphere is friendly and there's always good conversation with Roman and Avi always making people laugh. Student discounts also accepted. Highly highly recommend this place. I still come here after moving out of philly and take the train in just for these guys.read more

Got me haircut here during all of four years of undergraduate school while at Temple. Great place in the city, great excuse to get out of campus and into the city as well. This has been my go to barber for a few years now. I only get in 2-3 times a year as I like to let my hair grow out. Vickie is my girl, takes care of my long mess without a fuss and leaves me looking like the handsome gentleman my mother and significant other would like to see 365. Can't beat the value as well. ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW - I like to find a good barber and stick with him, so I've only had two in 15 years living in Philly even though it's a pain to get here now that I'm working elsewhere. Pat was the first, at the barbershop by the 17th st entrance to suburban station, and Avi at Fine Shaves. He's literally a hair & beard craftsman.. consistently gives me the look I'm going for with little effort. I can give him a 4 word description & he'll nail it every time, and he'll make you laugh throughout the cut. Fine Shaves is a solid, welcoming shop that makes you feel right at home & I'm not looking forward to the day I move out of Philly.ORIGINAL: Great service and interesting people, at a convenient location a block from my job. Excellent cut. I am a male with long hair and the barber trimmed it to perfection. I especially liked when he used the straight razor to clean my neckline. Hands down best haircut in center city. These guys have been around a long time and they have it down. It is the fastest, best, most comfortable and affordable hair cut in the city. I started going during my intern year at Jefferson and continued there for all 6 years. It is right across the street from the hospital, I'd often stop in for a quick cut between cases or right after work. Extremely convenient. Roman is my favorite but Avi is also extremely talented. Beyond that, they're fun to talk to and make the experience enjoyable; they make you feel like family.read more
