Adrian and the staff, that were present, was friendly and welcoming. I sat down in the chair without a clue but with total and complete trust that I would be happy with the end results. Adrian assessed my situation, alopecia, then proceeded to cut my hair. Not only did he put me at ease he made me feel like an individual and boosted my already confident self to 1000!! I went in nervous but also anxious for a new look! The atmosphere is friendly, family oriented, and inviting. The decor is comfortable, classy and upscale! My overall experience at Adrian Fanus Grooming was nothing short of amazing. Not only did I leave with a phenomenal haircut, but with an amazing grooming experience. The appearance of the place, the customer service, the atmosphere, the cleanliness, and the sanitization process were all top notch. During this time of Covid-19 I felt comfortable and was at ease with the precautions and implementations that Adrian Fanus Grooming put in place. From the sanitization of the chairs after each customer, the plastic guard coverings we were required to wear, being offered hand sanitizer, and everyone wearing face masks. Since my first experience early this year, Adrian is the first groomer to ever cut my hair in NYC... The place is beyond amazing let along Adrian, he is very professional,easy going person and makes his clients very at ease, comfortable and I left every time confident than ever... Ran into a bit of a snafu finding this location, no one's fault but my own. I was late, yet Adrian was still courteous and kind and was able to fit me in a slot later that day. The location is beautiful, clean professional and welcoming. I have issues of sorts with my hair and as a lady I would not go to a neighborhood local Barbershop. I found out about Adrian through scrolling on IG one day and had been following his page ever since. I would see the different posts of all the women getting haircuts and always wondered if I could pull it off. It stayed in the back of my mind for months, but one day I decided that I was ready to schedule my appointment. I finally got my haircut this month and I have loved the freedom of it since then! I was so nervous the whole day leading to the appointment, but Adrian calmed my nerves instantly. He was a pleasure and has such good energy and hyped me up the entire time. I went to Adrian Fanus Grooming Salon after a very bad experience with a stylist, and he literally turned something negative into a positive with his excellence and professionalism. I felt at home right away which was important since I literally had to cut off all of my hair, and start from scratch. I've been to him three times thus far, and he never disappoints. The first time included a wash, scalp scrub, and out of this world scalp massage! The entire ambiance is so calming, and there's a lightness in the air that you just feel this is where people go to reset. Simply because he is an empath, and he leads by his example. Therefore, he sets the tone for the other barbers as well.The most important thing for me as a woman is that although the salon's primary function are for barber services it feels as if I'm in a beauty salon. I never feel out of place or like I don't belong the way I imagine I would if I went to a traditional barbershop. The environment is welcoming to all. For as long as I choose to keep my hair short he's my barber of choice. I love his services so much I've decided to keep my hair in the shortest length possible (next to bald) for the entire summer, because his designs are that dope. They're also very feminine which I absolutely LOVE! He's well worth crossing water for the one hour drive. I have no problem traveling and paying for quality service.❤read more

I spent HOURS trying to find someone that I thought would be a good fit to give my 21-month old son his first haircut. I wanted the experience to be special since it was his first. I came across Adrian’s instagram profile and instantly liked the vibe I got seeing his interaction cutting young kids hair. I decided to give him a try. I was also impressed with the ease of booking online. It was seamless.I was very nervous how my son would react to the experience but within minutes of meeting Adrian, I knew I made a good choice. The space is clean, beautiful, modern and bright. The equipment was spotless. He made the whole experience about my son and making sure he was comfortable. He even gave his Elmo toy a “haircut” which my son was so happy about.I honestly couldn’t believe the luck my husband and I had finding Adrian. After cutting my own hair for years, I decided it was time to treat myself to a real haircut, so I booked an appointment with Ahmir after seeing all the good reviews this place has. My hair is longer and wavy on top, and shorter on the sides. I asked Ahmir to blend the sides with the top, do a fade on the sides and back, and asked him not to take too much off the top, just a little trim. This is the first time I’ve had a barber/hairdresser do EXACTLY what I asked for! I am very happy with the cut. The salon was really clean, smells fresh, and has a spa-like atmosphere. About a year ago a hairstylist severely damaged my hair and I had to get a big big chop. It was kinda traumatic. Since then, I've been insecure and struggled to find a cut that really felt right. It either looked off from the beginning or would grow-in awkward.Then I found Adrian Fanus online while looking for a real barber who had experience cutting women's hair. I found this salon on Instagram through a content creator whose cut always looks great. I booked a last minute big chop appointment. Such a pleasant experience from start to finish. The young man at the front desk was very polite. The environment is clean and light (in terms of brightness and vibes). I was mentally prepared to just get a cut and go but what I got was a full experience. Ahmir did an initial cut with the scissors to get most of the length off. He then washed and deep conditioned my hair before proceeding with the remainder of the cut, including the design. I felt AMAZING when I walked out of there. I would highly recommend.read more

His personality is very warm, his attitude is professional, and his skills are PHENOMENAL. I have alopecia and my hair is thinner at the crown. Beautiful shop and friendly staff, and I met the owner who was very gracious. I didn't have a particular style, but my stylist, Khalil, showed me some of the many photos that helped me decide. They have some body products for sale but i didnt notice any for the hair, considering it is a hair salon. The only thing I was not happy about was when I walked in, the 2 guys behind the counter did say hello but went back to their conversation instead of asking who my appointment was with so I'd know next steps which is why I gave 4 stars. The moment I entered AFG, my husband and I was greeted by the owner, Adrian. He directed us to Nicole’s area to check in. Nicole greeted us and showed us where we can hang our jackets. She then ask me if I mind waiting a few minutes to complete a client. A few minutes later, she escorted me to her salon. She asked me what cut I wanted, then proceeded to assess my hair and scalp. Nicole relaxed my hair. I had no burning or tingling! She didn’t over process my hair. She gave me a treatment. Her hands are so gentle, I fell asleep! I thought I was at a spa! I gave her freedom to cut my hair that would be easier to maintain without applying much heat. She even taught me to maintain my hair between visits.Overall! I had a great experience here! The service itself actually was accurate in the amount of time it would take, which isn’t always common nowadays! Adrian took time to ask about me and my personality to get a feel for how to do my cut. He was also kind enough to let me style my hair after the appointment and I even got some recommendations on some products for a curly taper. Adrian also made some on the fly adjustments after our appointment was over when he noticed how my hair looked slightly different after styling, I appreciate him not letting me walk out looking crazy 😂. This was my first time ever cutting my hair and it was wonderful to have a kind, relaxing environment to experience that in!!read more

Adrian is warm, thoughtful and creative. I had Locs for 23 years and went to him for my big chop. I was nervous and he continually reminded me to breathe and that I was in good hands. He is an artist working in response to the tapestry before him. I wasn’t sure if I would want to make the trek from Harlem to BK every time I need a haircut but after sitting in Adrian’s chair, I’ve realized he’s the only option.I want to add that my daughter got her hair cut from Adrian a couple years ago because she wanted a fresh start. I absolutely love getting my hair cut at the Adrian Fanus salon! I have been coming off and on for a few years now and frankly I wouldn’t go anywhere else. He is always professional, creative and has a great attitude whether it’s a 7:30 am Sat appointment or early evening and I just know he might be fatigued on a weekday. He is highly skilled and I always feel great after leaving his chair. I automatically get compliments. Newly added to the salon near his skin care offerings is a bar and I was offered a deliciously sweet and nutmeg forward rum punch with my service. Such a nice touch after work!read more

Did a big chop with Adrian and I’d rate 100 if I have to! The customer service was on point! The other staff members including Adrian’s son made us feel so welcome from the second we walked in. He and Nicole went above and beyond to make my birthday special! Coincidentally none of them had to be in on that day and went the extra mile to come in and have me leave satisfied. It was my birthday so the music and the vibes was on point! He trimmed my eyebrows for free! My friend and I even got free rum punch at the bar! Removing my dreads after 7 years I had no idea as to how I wanted my haircut or the color. Adrian and Nicole made that so easy! After my big chop he even did a photo shoot for me and gave me a gift for my birthday. Highly recommended and will definitely go back!read more

The Barber, whom I had the pleasure and honor of being serviced by was, Adrian Fanus, who did an amazing cut for me, on yesterday, Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024.
The most important thing, for me is that he really cares, he knows his craft, and he really listens and hear you.
I was a reck, and was all over the place, I was very emotional and nervous with doing my big chop.
It’s not like I’ve never done a big chop before, but finding someone, who cares like he does, is awesome (trust me I’ve had some really bad experience with past barbers).
Once in his chair, I was able to put any concerns, fears and uneasiness aside and OMG ADRIAN FANUS did his thang!!
I must also, mention, Mr. Fanus provides some of the most inspirational wisdom/quotes that’s very heart felt and touching.
Where do you find a barber like that.
I can only say he’s my barber, for life, I will travel back to NY, even when I retire to have my hair cut, by Adrian Fanus, himself.
I can go on and on, but it’s for you to book your appt. with him to get that ultimate experience of a great barber.
