Description
The Study is a men's salon dedicated to providing precision grooming to men just wanting to feel good. The lounge makes you feel at home, like an upscale living room, with a playlist of great music (vinyl & streaming), reading material, TV's, and coffee or refreshments. Overall, a cool space. When it comes to the haircut, they don't rush so you get a quality service.

Being new to the area from the city it was important that I find a local bodega - and The Study is it. Conveniently located around the corner from me, The Study caters to all my shopping needs; cat food, canned soup, somewhat fresh produce and the other various sundries a young man living in the suburbs needs. I came for a haircut and I left with a will to live.... not to mention a BEAUTIFUL haircut. I was going in to get my last haircut before I ended my life. I wanted to look good in my casket and these guys can cut hair. After sitting down with Edgar he breathed the breath of life and a will to live into my soul. Nothing is more fun and exciting than sifting through a pile of old records to find a gem, limited edition you have been pining for for years. Rare, and personalized is the hunt, but always worth the trip. Carefully curated and masterly laid our for you and you alone is that record. Ed is killer at cutting hair. I usually grow my hair out and donate it, so the process can be annoying with awkward growth at some points. So far, we have avoided most of the awkwardness.Great place to show up early to and just hang. There are refreshments like water and coffee, plus tvs and interesting decorations.read more

I love these guys. I took a shot based on a ton of great reviews was not disappointed. I was nervous for my first post quarantine cut but Edgar and the boys were total pros. Place was clean, cool and welcoming. Wanted something bold and different. Edgar managed to tame my rooftop jungle and send me on my way looking both respectable and a little rebellious. I Always Make New Friends HereGoing to The Study is a special occasion; I just know that something new will happen. Everyone there is so nice and neighborly. At other Friend Places, you have to hide til after-hours to get materials, but the fellows at The Study let you keep whatever you sweep up! Upon entering, the smell of freshly made donuts is overwhelming. The combinations of toppings and icings to choose from are endless, and the sight of donuts flying off the end of the machine is enough to make your mouth start watering. Edgar was quick to suggest some of his favorite combinations, and they did not disappoint in the least. Might I suggest the maple bacon to anyone looking for something truly unique.Oh, and they even do haircuts in the back! Highly recommend Edgar for the ultimate cut and experience.read more

After moving to the area in the summer I had gone to a couple of other places and I didn’t get the feeling that I ever wanted to go back.The Study, however, was an EXCEPTIONAL experience end to end. The attention to detail that Edgar has, the way he personalized the work down to the level of areas where my skin was more sensitive (psoriasis), and the care he took to shape my look was incredible.Since the appointment I have received multiple compliments in person and over zoom (first time since moving here from nyc) and will undoubtedly make this place home base.Go, go, and go again!!read more

Just a great all-around experience. Booked with Michael, was greeted at the door, they hung my coat, seated immediately, and then Michael got down to the business end with his scissors. Always a pleasure to be in the presence of a professional at what they do. I look smashing with the new cut if I do say so myself...and my wife concurred. Best vegan lattes in town. Each one comes with a free beard trim whether you have a beard or not. Also I love that all hair is donated to dogs with alopecia. Stellar!

I have been seeing the gentlemen at the study for years, regularly getting my cut and beard trim with Josh for a while now. I'm never leaving looking slobbery, always looking Crisp. Those days that I need the hair done up leaving, they don't shy away with spittle of that expensive stuff. They'll throw gobs in your hair if that's how you want it. The doodrules that way. Exactly what you're looking for. Everyone is great. Mike cuts my hair and I look good when I leave. I'm not the best looking so that's a tall order. Always offered a coffee when I sit down.
