Cool little laid-back shop... been there twice in a week once was for my son's first haircut. They did a good enough job with him that I decided to go back myself as it's conveniently close. Same Barber different result; basic fade with scissor cut on the top not successful. My wife can always tell when I don't go to one of 2 the skilled Barbers I frequent and when she saw this cut all she could do was laugh... if I was just judging the barber I'd give two stars but overall the barbershop seems like it could be decent if you get the Right Barber as many as four stars if they do have an excellent barber in house but I can't say that as of yet and I'll play it safe and not go back. I recommend South Street barbers.Update 10/30/18...Went in today and walked out with a solid cut from the shop's owner, Dave.read more

My main barber was out of town and I needed a cut for a job interview. Tried this place out of necessity, and when I got there I was unsure about it. All the guys are pretty young and wore wife beaters and were all tatted up. It just felt a little too laid back. But I told the guy what I wanted and he did a damn good job. Most efficient cut I've ever had - quick and neat. A little pricier than my other barber but I will probably start going back here.read more

These guys are very professional.I have been to different barbershops in the Germantown area and The Shop is the best.They even have discount pricing for Seniors such as myself which is great.

I've had some good cuts here by Dave, but today definitely my last. I get that it is a barber shop and there ain't much else to do but gossip, but when there's a 10 year old kid getting cut with his mom in the shop common decency would tell you to tone down the subject matter and language. Maybe I'm old fashioned.... Some of the barbers in there look like they wear their pajamas to work also and nobody's quick to pick up a broom between cuts. Fare the well!read more

Dropped in for a quick trim. Mike did my hair and did a good job. We had a guy walk in who provided some entertainment by telling a physician who was getting his haircut that he was in the same profession: a Patient! Nonetheless, will return.read more

Dav has been cutting my grandsons hair since he was 5 and he's 10 now. Dav has always been consistent and maintained professionalism in the shop but allowing the shop to very comfortable and easy going especially for children. And a plus, parking is great.read more

Due to Pandemic etc,we had not been to a barber in a few years. This place was conveniently located in Mt Airy so we decided to give it a try They take clients by appointment only and we booked for a Wednesday afternoon with Nikki.She did an excellent job and my son left looking good and feeling great about his cut. I’ve been going to this shop since July of 2017 and haven’t cheated since..LOL. I’ve been a faithful client of the owner “Dave” and there hasn’t been a time I left his chair disappointed. Great atmosphere, great location, each barber is friendly and welcoming. I truly recommend this shop for kids and adults. Even when I moved from the Philadelphia area to about 45 mins out, I STILL COME!!! They run on a schedule and won’t have you waiting when you have a scheduled appointment. I dont generally give up reviews and I hate doing this because my son really like the hair cut he received. But $35 for a 11 yr old, I think thats kinda expensive for kid's haircut. My wife said to me I thought you said it was only $20 I told her thats what I paid there for him to get a hair cut. Smh....Consistency in price or posting up a price list in the shop would remove all confusion and disappointments .Something for the owner to think about 🤔.read more
