Sweeney Todd's Barber Shop is up to date on the latest trends in cuts, colors, and style. Men, women, and children can enjoy the experience. TV's and wifi available. They even provide the straight razor and hot lather cleanup around the ears and on the neckline with every haircut. And also do straight razor shaves with the hot towel/aromatherapy treatment. The CamoColor service is a great way to lessen the grey without the stark change of a complete coloring and it only takes 5 to 10 minutes.

At first glance it does not seem like a children’s barbershop, but it is! Danielle cuts my 4 year old sons hair and she is AWESOME! We love her and the cut is perfect. Everyone in there is so nice every time we go in. They pull out all kinds of toys and gadgets. I always look forward to going there and I know that my son has the best time. My 2.5 year-old got his first non-mom cut today and it was a big success! The guys turned on Sesame Street as soon as he hopped in the chair, and Justin was patient, encouraging, and gave him a great cut. Couldn't ask for more! Kids cuts are $17 - I haven't seen a better price around!read more

Usually this place is amazing. Appointment only and typically a skilled barber most times I go. Unfortunately the last time I went. I was cut by Edward scissor hands. The neck shave was more like a neck carving. Got all cut up. Other than that time, it's great.read more

I take my son here when there are available appointments! Sometimes we don't know our schedule, so it's hard to set up standing appts. Always a great experience and Darius is so nice to him.

Overall experience: Clean and professional environment that provides excellent haircuts by dedicated individuals. So far, I would highly recommend this establishment.It's hard to find a good barber. Like many other types of professional careers, two individuals of the same profession can provide vastly different experiences and results. My experience so far with a number of barbers in the Philadelphia/Upper Darby area has been mixed and inconsistent. Many have provided less than desirable results, while others are extremely inconsistent in the level of service they provide. So far, this has not been the case with Sweeney Todd's Barber Shop.The appointment was set up in Booksy and they were extremely prompt. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment and was told to wait until my barber, Axel, finished up with his client before me. I felt at ease as the barbers were all working with masks on and I saw them take their time to clean and ensure everything was sanitized before working with their clients. I was then asked to sit and get my haircut. The barber asked me what I wanted and I explained.Let me be clear about something here. I know I am not one of the easiest people to work with when it comes to cutting my hair. I'm a little wishy washy with what I want and leave a lot up to the barber. Some barbers don't like this and poke at me until I tell them. Others do whatever they want if I don't fill in the blanks. Axel gave me a series of options for me to choose from and did what I asked. I think this is the best approach to this issue. Barbers from other establishments could learn a lot from the way Axel handled me, an indecisive customer, who had a general idea of what he wanted without concrete instructions.I could tell that these barbers are passionate about their job. The establishment was quiet and they worked carefully and slowly. I never felt like my barber was trying to rush my haircut and as I looked around, I saw that none of the barbers were doing it either. They also handled the issue with the masks very well. If they needed access to an area that had a mask strap in the way, they'd take off the loop and hold it as they worked on the area. They never left any of the customers exposed. The only exception to this is when they worked on beards. They would ask you to remove your mask, but would request that you did not speak during that time to ensure the safeguards of all around.Things of note that I noticed is that they had some things on theme and others not on theme. The apron that they use to cover the customers as they get their hair cut had blood splatters on them which was very on theme. The place was somewhat messy in the reception, but each individual barber's area was clean and well maintained. I kind of wish they sold meat pies there just to make the theme a full circle.Another interesting thing is that every station was equipped with a ring light on a tripod to get pictures of finished haircuts for their website I would imagine. I think that's a good idea and it reflects the level of their professionalism.COVID Policy - Temperature checks, masks on at all times, sanitized surfaces and chairs.Prices - Very reasonable.Appointment Policy - Online or phone. Walk-ins are discouraged, I believe. This place gets booked quick, so make an appointment as soon as you think you might want a haircut.I have very little negatives to point out in this review. Overall, I'd recommend this business to others. I will update this review if my thoughts change or expand in future visits.read more

Darious and the entire staff here are great!!! Always very clean and professional but after the covid thing, their cleanliness is through the roof. Always great haircuts here and anyone I have referred here becomes a frequent customer. If you aren't getting cut by one of the barbers at Sweeney Todd's you probably need to review your life choices.read more

My husband got his hair cut last week, the hair looked great but the cuts did not. When he came home I looked at his hair/neck and was like OMG, are you okay? he had razor burn and 2 scratches. After a few days the razor burn is gone but there are still scabs from the cuts. I can see why they use the name is Sweeney Todd.read more

Darius and his team are the utmost professionals. They’ve been stellar with safety protocols all throughout this pandemic and was one of the only places I felt safe bringing my younger kids. They always listen and treat kids like actual people which is rare unfortunately. My boys’ haircuts are always sharp and they get compliments all the time. This was the best shave and haircut I have ever received. Absolutely the best place for a straight razor shave!! Ask for Darius, he got me looking sharp! His process had more of a spa treatment with their own shaving creams that they sell in the store. I can not wait to go back. Wherever you live, make this a destination for yourself.read more

My son and I recently visited Sweeney Todd's Barber Shop in Havertown. I am glad we drove an hour roundtrip because it was an experience that we will not forget. Steve, the Barber, was exceptional, giving us both great haircuts. My son's first buzz cut was handled with care and expertise, making it a special moment for us. The atmosphere of the shop was wonderful, taking me back to the cherished times I spent in the Barbershop with my Dad. It was more than just a haircut; it was a delightful trip down memory lane.
