Went for haircut/beard trim today with Ethan Thompson. What a great and patient person! During trimming of beard it took 3 to 4 tries before I was satisfied. When done he agreed the shortness was perfect for my face shape. I felt that he took the time and eventhough my input was not very clear Ethan was accommodating to keep trimming until I was happy! Needless to say when move back to Pittsburgh next year, I already know where and who will be cutting my hair, trimming beard and get my recommendation for where and who to go to! If possible would have given 10 stars!read more

It was my first time at this barber shop and it will certainly not be my last. Mister Grooming & Goods knows how to cater my hair style and Michael proved that in how he cut it. He did a great job and he also had great advice on how to maintain my beard and hair. He showed me what type of products to use and he had really good judgement on how to shape my beard according to what I had in mind. Guys: This is the place to go in Lawrenceville for a good haircut. Barbers are excellent at their craft and very friendly. The atmosphere is fun and hipster to a new level. They have a plethora of products for any grooming need and if you're not happy with a product you can being it back. Not to mention free espresso and whiskey as you wait. These guys are the actual best. I went in with my groomsmen last week, they took care of all of us super fast and did an excellent job. I know they were really busy but Michael took an extra few mins with me to make sure I looked perfect for my wedding day. I got compliments all day and night about how nice my hair and beard was. Really enjoyed going here for about 8 months. Ally does great work. I had to stop going because I walked out without rescheduling my next appointment (I was in a hurry, largely my fault). About 2 weeks later I called to see if I could get on Ally's schedule. She was booked for the next month. I asked if anyone else is available in the meantime. Again, no one available for the next month. There's a reason why they're so busy: They're good. Unfortunately, that means that scheduling is a nightmare. Even when I scheduled right after I got my hair cut, the number of slots available in the 4-5 week range were very few. I want to give them 5 stars, but it's hard to when they are barely available.read more

I went here a few months backand drove down from the north hills. The shop was really cool, playing cool music, and it had a authentic mixed urban / rustic feel to it. They use technology to schedule and remind you about appointments which is a plus too and you can make your appointment via text which is a huge plus (if I had to call I would have never made the appointment to begin with)My only complaint was that I drove down from the north hills looking for some vision / styling for my beard. I didn’t want to go in there and say “this is exactly what I want” I wanted the stylist to make recommendations what she thought would work well / look good on me and I told her so. All she ended up doing was chopping off about 8 months of growth off my mustache with little conversation about it and evening out a few areas. I’m not sure if it was just the girl I got or if offering facial hair styling recommendations isn’t a normal / reasonable request...but I haven’t been back and I can’t say it was worth the drive down. Overall, the place is cool and definitely above average atmosphere and vibe for a barber shop. I just wouldn’t go out of my way to go down again.read more

Don’t let the name turn you off, ladies! Good price great service. Niles managed to turn a botched pixie into a style I got compliments on even a shaggy two months later. Definitely a great spot for the gents who like some proper grooming. Lot of options to choose from on the menu and they trim beards!! Haven't come across another spot that does and they're quite professional. Very clean spot and the host is very courteous upon check in. You can even text them if you'd prefer that over a call and they're quick to respond! They will also help out suggesting what you should purchase from their products just so you know what you're spending your dime on!read more

This is my most favorite place ever to get a haircut! The shop is thoroughly decorated with tons interesting stuff but is always very professional and clean at all the haircut stations. I've been coming here for every haircut as long as I've been in Pittsburgh (~6 years). Zack Dean is the best and he'll hook you up with a nice cut!In this part of the city, street parking is super easy and free on the unmetered side streets. They're always busy (for good reason!) so make sure to call and set up an appointment before your first time.read more

This is a local barber shop right on Butler Street. The prices are fair, you get a haircut, a straight edge shave and a wash. The ambience is eclectic and unique. The staff are friendly and scheduling is super easy, though they frequently book 2 weeks out.read more

Have been going to this hair salon for years. I used to get my hair cut with Ethan before he moved onto another shop. Recently got a gentleman's fade with a number 1 on the side from Zach. One of the best barber shops in the city and a great value for your money as you get a very high quality haircut, a shampoo with the cut, and a beverage of choice. Coffee, water, beer, whiskey. Etc. I am a frequent customer here and generally, I really do enjoy going here for my haircut and would highly recommend to anyone. I usually make an appointment with Anthony. He's been super friendly and my go-to person. I also want to try other crew members here as well because I have seen their work from being there. Jason is also another great guy that I'd like to go back again.However, today was different. I had an appointment with Jess. When I got to her station, the vibe was just different. I was trying to describe what I wanted to get done and her condescending and judgemental attitude really threw me off because I had great. interactions with other members. And the whole thing felt rushed compared to other appointments I previously had.read more
