And you initially feel quite welcomed. They combine the use hot and cold towels, along with advanced creams and balms for enjoyable bread trims and shaves.

I’ve been coming here for a few years and had okay haircuts. I did have to wait even showing up early a lot of times but I didn’t mind as much as I was just a walk over. I had devastating news a few minutes before my most recent apt and my first thought isn’t to cancel a hair appointment and I am just recovering now from the news and I got charged an entire 55$ and I normally also leave 20% tip so to see an entire 55$ charge was absurd. I respect someone needing to make money due to a time slot but there were so many empty appointments and as a small business it’s at your discretion on how to handle cancellations. I don’t mind a 25$ charge for 30 minutes of their time but 55$ will absolutely not make me come back to this establishment. I will never get a mediocre haircut from this place again. Seeing other reviews and pictures makes me more comfortable making this decision. There’s a lot of barber shops around town.read more

A few of the barbers are decent, but unless you want to constantly check your credit card statement for errant charges, I would highly suggest going somewhere else.This place has one of the most abhorrent rescheduling processes. If you reschedule your appointment AHEAD OF TIME they will double charge you. The kicker? They won’t tell you. They just charge your credit card.To be honest, I always thought it was odd a mediocre barbershop “needs” to keep your card on file. I recently moved to Hoboken for school and I heard about this place from a friend. There was also a lot of positive reviews. I scheduled an appointment online with one of the barbers that was specifically skilled in scissor cuts and customer service according to his profile on the website. The cut that I wanted wasn't too complicated, just a short, messy, textured fringe with a 1.5 fade on the sides. I thought this wouldn't be difficult, so I booked an appointment the day I flew back home to visit family I haven't seen in a while.I showed up to my appointment five minutes early, then ended up having to wait an extra ten minutes after my scheduled appointment time before my barber got me in the chair. I told him what cut I wanted, and showed him three pictures of the front, side, and back view of myself that I took two months ago; with the haircut that I wanted right after my usual barber back home cut me. After looking at the pictures, he told me that "No two barbers cut the same way," and that "it's up to interpretation since this is an art". At this point, I was getting a little worried because I just wanted the same cut as the one in my pictures that I showed him, but I already waited, so I stayed.He began cutting the top after fading the sides and back. He cut my fringe straight across and barely did anything to the top. While he was cutting the top, I was communicating my concerns with him and telling him what I wanted (soften up my fringe with point cutting so it didn't look like a bowl cut, texturize my hair, etc...). He tried to texturize my hair by just randomly cutting without attempting to cut any layers into my hair.Eventually, it reached the point where my hair looked doomed and the more I said something the worse it looked so I tried to end the appointment. The barber could tell that I didn't like the cut and told me that he couldn't do much and give me the look that I showed him because of my hairline. I'm well aware that I have a high hairline, but that's exactly why I wanted the haircut that I showed him. The pictures were me a couple months ago, so I knew the look I wanted was realistic. He immediately proceeded to pack up and leave.Fortunately, my barber and the staff were kind enough to not charge me the $55 plus tip. This entire experience was very confusing. My hair's too short and uneven now to fix without buzzing it so I'll have to wear a hat when I see my family during this weekend and for the next month or so. I'll attach the three pictures of the hairstyle that I showed to the barber and the results after the appointment for reference.There's a reason this barbershop is highly rated, so this could just be an unfortunate accident. Carefully consider before you come here if they are capable of giving you the haircut that you want.read more

I read all the positive reviews about this place and decided to book an appointment with Mike. My experience with Mike has been great since. He knows what he’s doing and you can tell. There are talented barbers at this shop, especially Sydney who was my barber when he was a Junior Barber and became a Regular Barber. I was a client at Mark Daniel Barbershop for over a year and a half - and I always showed up.Earlier this week, I missed an appointment for the first time. Instead of contacting me to reschedule me for later in the evening or the next available day, their system automatically charged me $62.00 for a service I did not receive.I honestly thought it was an accidental automatic charge from their system until I received an email from a different employee writing to me using Mark's email account days later that any appointment I make will be automatically cancelled and that they would prevent me from going back if I did not reverse the dispute.I understand that barbers work on commission, but this was the first appointment I ever missed. The barber's calendar was completely booked for that day anyway so they didn't lose any money.I never purposely missed an appointment, and there was one time last year I had to cancel last minute because of a family emergency - which was months ago and I notified them 2 hours in advance that I couldn't make it - I rescheduled and went to that appointment.There's a way to handle premium clients that consistently show up, and for that reason they lost me as a client.read more

Best shop in the area. Great ambiance and always clean.Upon arrival they always greet you and ask if they can get you anything to drink. Both shops in Hoboken and Jersey City are a 10/10. The barbers are down-to-earth and talented. Haircuts always come out pristine and you get the ultimate barbershop experience. I'm very picky when it comes to a barbershop and even more so when it comes to the specific barber. Booking an appointment here is incredibly easy even though the available timeslots are reasonably in high-demand. You'll receive a warm greeting when you enter the clean and modern shop. They even go as far as to offer you a choice of beverage if there is any wait before your appointment. Luis takes care of me as if he's known me for years and all of the barbers here seem like absolute professionals in their craft. I always leave feeling fresh and clean, although my only note is that I'd love a hair washing station as I'm often off to my next errand or meeting after my appointment.read more

This barber shop has an old school feel (friendly barbers and good conversation) with a modern touch (trendy décor and current music). For those that are Covid conscious, they check your temperature at the door and everyone is wearing masks.
