Just had my first cut with David. Outstanding. Told him what I generally like and wanted a bit of a change. He wasted no time, which I appreciate since it was lunch time in Midtown, and yet was very precise. Took his time with my beard and stache. Hot towel was great. The best barbershop I have been to I have really thick curly hair. I get it chemically relaxed here and it's so much easier to style and it is a huge time saver. Would definitely recommend this place, ask for Carlos. I’ve tried several places around both Brooklyn and Manhattan and I would have to say Carlos is by far the best at men’s fade haircuts. He listens to what you want and cuts your hair accordingly.read more

I've been coming to Made Man barber shop for a few years now and it has finally made its way uptown. This location is very cozy, located between broadway and 6th Ave. Adam is my favorite barber in the city, (he also cuts and colors women's hair) but their entire staff is great overall. Cut, shave, wash whatever you need they will provide. They've got great old school decor with talented barbers. All cuts end with a eucalyptus oil scented hot towel at the end. Very nice location and highly recommended.read more

Been rocking with the company for a year now, even through Corona. I must say, best shop in NYC, no hyperbole!!! They communicate, listen, and deliver! When I first started I was on my journey to find my ideal haircut, I did not anything about a 2, 3, the different blades, the different fades etc. Nada!!! My old place closed down due to the pandemic, and I was apprehensive about finding another place to cut my hair, but tried this place based off of a friend’s recommendation. So glad that I did. This place is and has always been an incredible experience mostly because of Jordan. I've been going to him for about 1.5 years now and I have not had a single bad experience. Awesome old school barbershop, but stops short of being kitchy or manufactured. I have tricky hair, and years ago when I first sat in Evelyn's chair, I told her what problems I have with it. She came up with a solution, and my hair has never looked better. My wife is a stylist and even she said it was a better cut than she ever gave me. There isn't a noisy TV or radio. And after not being able to go for a year and a half during covid, Evelyn still knew who I was and we had a great time catching up. Also, the website is a great way to book an appointment.read more

Great solid haircut. I generally like a simple cut, but these guys are stylish too. A little of that modern flair got in there and my partner said my hair has never looked better. I went to Eli at the Made Man Barber Shop just off Broadway at West 38th Street. The address is 1400 Broadway.I requested conversational. I was really impressed. Eli gave me a masterful hair cut. He made excellent conversation. He asked me if I preferred scissors or a razor. This place is amazing -- great, open shop, lots of interesting and stylish people inside. My barber was Flora, and she may be the best barber I have ever had. She spent extra time doing the little details -- making sure my neckline was cleaned up, tapering my beard so it doesn't look too bushy, texturing the top, she was great. She was technically excellent, her manner was great, and I just felt safe and "in good hands" with her. There's nothing quite like having an outstanding barbering experience with an attractive stylist like Flora doing a great job! While I was very happy with my haircut (he did exactly as asked), it was the shave I was most impressed with. This spot is top-notch, filled with cool folks and a chill vibe. My barber was Vicky, and I gotta say, she's possibly the best I've ever had. She put in the extra work, tidying up my neckline, trimming my beard to the right amount of scruffy, and getting the texture on top just right.She's got mad skills, no doubt about it, and she's got a great way about her that makes you feel comfortable and like you're in expert hands. There's something special about a top-tier cut and shave, especially when it's done by someone as down-to-earth and talented as Vicky.The whole experience was more like hanging out with a friend who happens to give stellar haircuts and shaves. I been coming here for years, probably since they’ve opened. One of the best barbershops I’ve been to and I’ve been to a lot. As soon as you walk in it’s a friendly atmosphere. You’re greeted and they ask if you have an appointment. Usually I book ahead in advance but if you don’t they can squeeze you in with any barber. I went to most barbers here and each usually provide a top notch cut. I go for the Made man Haircut and Beard trim usually. Especially when I want to relax and look like a new man! The service is about an hour and the cuts are very detailed. Just tell them what you want and they can make it happen. A little bit on the pricey side but that’s Manhattan for you. This is not one of these $15, 15-minute haircut places. They take their time and are very meticulous. I met the owner once and he gave me a cut and was a super nice guy. The place is very clean and everyone is very friendly. Not intimidating at all. Some barbershops try to come off as being “hard” but it’s not one of these places.Recently, I’ve seen Flora here and she was fantastic! She immediately knew what I wanted without having to explain the cut in detail and she made it happen. She was very consistent, efficient and kind. It came out great and looks just what I envisioned. Even Alex is great whom I’ve seen before this cut. They all seem to be really good. They also give 100% effort. No one stops in the middle of a cut to answer their phone or walk over to talk to someone else. They’re all focused when they provide their service which is rare these days. I love it.You’re paying for quality here and it shows. Trust me, you don’t want one of these cheap, quick places that will leave you looking like you got chopped up by a lawnmower. Alex is just simply the best! Alex strives for PERFECTION. Overall, Made Man Barbershop is clean, and everyone there is super nice, easy check in and easy check out. ALEX was one of the first barbers we met. He knows all of his clients well and is always on point when it comes to making sure his clients are happy. Ely is hands down the best barber I have ever came across. I am very selective about finding the right barber and it’s been an issue no matter where I have moved. It is difficult to find a barber with experience cutting long curly hair but to say the least.. Ely is a magician with a pair of scissors in his hand. His attention to the detail is unmatched. Not only that but he has a very warm welcoming personality, making me always look forward to my next visit.
