He has over 15 years experience cutting men's hair. Discounts for seniors and service men. A great location on young children and a baby's first haircut.

Got my first haircut at J's and I can honestly say it was one of the best haircuts I have ever received in my life. Joel was awesome!! He was very friendly, professional and meticulous. He went the extra mile and made sure I was happy before I left. The establishment is super clean and comfortable. The rest of the staff was extremely nice and makes you feel welcome. J and his team provide some of the best service I have ever experienced. Came across the shop by accident. I had to stop to make a phone call and pulled into the lot to make a phone call for work. J greeted me in the lot and asked if i needed any help. I apologized for being In the lot and said I would move.He reassured me it was no problem to stop and asked if I needed a hair cut. With a new baby at home I have found it difficult to make time to take care of my normal haircut routine.He was able to make an appointment for me that day.If you only read what is above this lone you will know of the quality of character of the business. I was recommended to this older looking barber shop that looks like a home if you're just passing by. Yo, this place, for being in the middle of nowhere DE on old capital trail(near prices corner) is a great place to get a fresh cut! Everyone seemed real laid back and chill. Also nice to see most seats were filled. So my man Adam was very accommodating, he had me in a seat within 30 sec and started to fresh up me up. They were so great with my boys! Eddie had my four year old and gave him a cut to keep his curls. Adam had my two year old and was so wonderful with him, showing him the tools before using them and giving him a comb to play with. You can tell they have experience with children!! My older son has been going to J’s for years and we have loves the staff, shop and haircuts!Today i took my 12 month old son there for his first haircut and it was such a great experience! Our little was nervous, started to get aBit fussy and moved his head but J was able to work around him and gave him an awesome haircut! He was patient and thorough and was mindful to get some of the hair clippings for us to save and gave a little first hair cut certificate. I moved from Pa to De, I know it’s not that far of a move, but I needed to find a new barber. And yes, even for men this can be stressful. My first pick was J’s Barbershop. I choose J’s because of their convenient location. What I got was a clean, friendly, fast paced (very short wait times), and modern establishment. I’ve had three cuts with three different barbers and have been completely satisfied with each one. I cut my own hair for close to 20 years because I was done paying for a service I wasn’t satisfied with so J’s is a refreshing break from doing it myself. My cut is textured length on top, for a messy look, with a bald fade all around.read more

I have been going to this shop for nearly 13 years. The team stands out for their communication with each other. My hair is difficult to cut but I can sit in any chair and know it is going to look exactly how I want it, even if i dont have the same guy doing it the second time i get a certain style. The communication between barbers is that strong. I've never been disappointed in a cut from here and the prices are exceptional for the attention to detail this team has. I have made the mistake of going other places and Js has always been able to fix it. Moved about a 2 hr drive away and make sure i plan a stop here when i come to town to visit family. I really like J's Barbershop. The process is simple. You just go to their website and find a day and a time slot that works for you.When you arrive you are greeted by one of the barbers. Any of the barbers can help you with your haircut. You describe what you're looking for and they take care of you. There may be some apprentices who will cut your hair but they are under the guidance/watchful eye of the owner. Overall, they are a great crew and I really recommend this place if you want a nice cut and also a beard trim.read more

We took our 16 month old to get his haircut today, and we were a little nervous because he doesn’t do the best in getting his haircut. I believe we had the owner who was amazing in cutting my sons hair even tho he was moving around a lot and crying for half of the time, our barber still got it done and turned out better then we were expecting!! Couldn’t rave more about this place! I have been taking my son to get his haircuts here for about a year. Only place that has cut his hair to his head type. All the barbers listen to what you need and then lend their expertise to get you to your vision. My son loves coming here, as do I. While online scheduling is available and preferred, walk-ins are welcome making it convenient for the last minute touch ups.All the barbers are pleasant with their interactions with every customer. They thread the needle of engaging with customers while not being overbearing. For me, that’s the sweet spot. I was VERY nervous taking my son to get his hair cut. He's 9, very anxious, and in the phase where mom does and says everything wrong lol.
