I love this barber shop and the girls that work there I’ve had a great time getting to know Lissa who has been cutting my hair and beard since my Stroke she’s been very helpful with getting me in and out of the chairs and I appreciate how flexible she is with getting me in!! All the ladies are great but Lissa is very special and goes far above to help make sure you have a great experience at the shop when you’re in her chair thank you so much for everything you do and all my best cuts!! Hair Mechanix in Southgate is fantastic. I’ve been getting my hair cut at Hair Mechanix since 2016, and I refuse to go anywhere else. Besides the wonderful haircuts, Hair Mechanix also offers wonderful hot towel straight razor neck shaves, beard trimming, waxing, and scalp massage services of which I partake regularly. When you walk in, ask for Candice. Candice has been styling my hair, maintaining my beard, and freshening up my brows for a majority of my appointments, and I always leave very satisfied with the quality of the cut, shave and waxing. I have curly hair and wanted something low maintenance and shorter. Jacquelyn was such a sweetheart and so patient when discussing the pros and cons of short curly hair. She suggested a style I've never had, and I said let's go for it!! I am in love with my hair again and everyone is saying how well it suits my face and style. It was that time again for another haircut. I have always hated sitting in that tilt-a-whirl chair and having someone dance around my head while holding a pair of sharp scissors. Maybe it's the feeling of vulnerability, insecurity, maybe it's the cheap small talk that takes place, or maybe it's having to trust the mental state of the person holding the scissors. However, I have to say that my experience with Amanda at Hair Mechanix Southgate has been lively and I leave feeling like a Rock Star. The cool kind of rock star, the type of rock star that actually has a great haircut. I went in with my hair all sticky from the cheap Meijer brand hair product (at least that's what I blamed it on) and Alfalfa bed head. No worries though, because Amanda has me looking like Tom Cruise when finished, only I'm Italian, a bit taller and not as strange. The small talk is great, funny and one part I look forward to most and the haircut even greater. I'd recommend booking with Amanda but I don't want her schedule too full for me to get in when I need it. I'll leave it at that for anyone that reads this and recommend you try your own experience which should benefit you the same as it does for me.read more

I have been going to get my hair cut and beard trimmed by Tiffany for over a year. She is very through and pays amazing attention to detail. Like seriously, she will literally look at your head to make sure that both sides match perfectly, head scalp massage is very soothing and smooth. Does phenomena job with the razor very precise. So far I have gone two different times and both times Kayla did an amazing job. Always happy with the cut and she has an amazing aura about her and the environment of the studio is great. They always offer me a water the first time I did not take it but the second time I did and it was nice and cold perfect for the summer.
