Sandra goes out of her way to make sure you get all the individualized attention and care one could possibly ask for. She is detailed and is a great conversationalist and can assess your mood if you don’t want to talk. This place also gives drinks and water accommodating those waiting and is equipped with chargers for your phones. Can’t recommend it enough.read more

Elegant Barber Shop is a relatively new shop in the neighborhood that is certainly a level above the competition in the moderate price range. The location is always clean, hospitality is abundant, and everyone seems to go a bit beyond to ensure you have a good experience. (For example, not rushing you, offering complimentary drinks, and ensuring your expectations are met prior to finishing)I have lived on the Upper East/Midtown East for two decades - and seen many shops come and go. This is one to stay. The staff there is extremely skilled - especially Tatiana, who I followed to Elegant after she decided to move on from her previous employer in the neighborhood. This is a full service shop: they do great hot shaves, precise scissor haircuts for more complicated hairstyles, to anything really that a customer could want.Again, the difference between this shop and the others is the space, cleanliness, hospitality, and the skill of the barbers. Tatiana is the best in my opinion, so try to call ahead for an appt with her, but, if she is busy, then I still believe you will be in good hands here.read more

I love getting my hair cuts at this Barbershop also because my boys love getting their haircut here! The barber's attention to detail and patience with my boys is unlike most at least in my experience, not to mention them blue eyes. Also, great environment for the kids and has a flavor to it that makes it unique. Prices are generally the same as most other shops but the talent and staff out measures your average hair salon. I have been going for a couple years now and it has been a great place to find a barber who will remember you and help you figure out what u want to do with your hair. Although the prices greatly increased over the past two years( I think the original price of a haircut was 20$ now it is 32$) It is still affordable. Recently I have been going to Tim( a barber) and he has absolutely changed my hairstyle. 6months ago he recommended I try a skin fade and I absolutely loved it. Then a month ago I came back from school and recommended I try a fade on my sides and keep my hair curly at the top. He recommended a few hair accessories as well. I love this place and I am happy to still see it open :)read more

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Tim for a long time now and I have to say. He never fails! Always on point and makes sure my cut is to my liking. Constantly checking with me to make sure I’m okay. Passed by for many years. In between doctor appointments yesterday I walked in and was seated immediately. With great luck my hair was cut by Vasily. I can't go back to my regular guy because she was so precise, and did not stop until she was satisfied the cut was balanced and symmetrical. That's about the extent of my memory.Fast forward to the next morning, and I'm checking myself out like, 'Dang, this haircut is fire!' Now, I can't tell you much about the haircut process 'cause, honestly, I was in la-la land.What I can say is the vibe in there is absolutely top-notch.
