Dukes Barber Shop of Albany gives you an old school feel with a modern appeal. They offer traditional services such as straight razor shaves, including a hot towel and facial massage. They also sell grooming products, along with various merchandise and apparel that you can check out while you're there. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are definitely recommended. Call for an appointment. No same day appointments.

First time at this shop, I was greeted right when I walked in the door. My barber Donnie cut my hair and it was just as i requested it. The shop was very clean, well lite and everyone was wearing ppe making this a great experience. I would recommend Donnie and this shop to everyone.read more

Made an appointment with Brian for 1pm today. Showed up a little early, he was available, sat me immediately, he had gloves and a mask on and went right at it. Gave me a fantastic haircut after going almost 4 months without one. He was efficient, but craft full. The place is always sparkling clean, they had someone sweeping and changing out cleansers the whole time I was there. You can’t beat a Dukes haircut and Brian 💯 has a repeat customer.read more

Duke's is the best barber shop I've been to in the Capital District. My work schedule changes drastically, so I typically walk in and get whoever it available. I've never been unhappy with my cut or beard trim. These guys are artisans!read more

I went and got a first haircut (covid) in six months. I decided to try Dukes. Duke did a great job and was a pleasure to talk to. The barber shop is super clean and everyone is carefully following COVID-19 guidelines. I will definitely be back. Thank you Duke!read more

Absolutely love this shop! Everyone is very friendly, and give a great haircut. They've been taking safety protocols very seriously since covid hit, everyone is wearing a mask the whole time, the correct way! I've been coming here since moving to Albany in 2018. Duke has been cutting my hair and my son’s hair for over 7 years now, and we never had a bad experience. Duke’s is an outstanding barber shop and has some truly talented barbers. Duke’s is a classic barbershop vibe…..the place is super clean and has a great atmosphere…..the hot towel shave is the best. Duke is great at his craft of barbering and is a true professional. I had been looking for a new barber since mine had moved away and a few of my coworkers recommended I go to Duke specifically. They always came in with nice cuts and had my hair type so I figured I’d give it a shot.I walked in one day without an appointment(rookie mistake) and was promptly but graciously told to make an appointment with Duke and come back. I scheduled an appointment a few days later and have been going to him ever since. Anytime I go, I always get compliments on the fade after.My last barber was great but the shop was sterile and lacked atmosphere. Duke’s makes me feel like one of the boys and there are always throwback movies or music videos playing. If there is downtime, someone is always sweeping up or cleaning the stations.If you’re looking for a new barber, Duke’s is the place to start.read more

I returned to Albany after living in a number of cities across the country. Finding a reliable barber shop is not easy. Dukes is the best! They are all pros. Today the first time I went to this barber store, let me tell you it was worth it. Haircut was good, my barber was patient and took his time with the cut. Been going to Duke’s for 7 years, never disappointed! I moved away from Albany but still make the 50 mile drive down to get my cut. The shop is very clean and has that traditional barbershop vibe. They also carry a few different brands of hair products and beard oils (including one they make themselves). I get coffee next door. The owner is always super nice, let’s me use the bathroom after coffee lol. So I decided to give the barber shop a try. I’ve shaved my own head for the past 20 years, but I wanted to go skin-bald. The barber who I cut my hair didn’t say much. He used close cut buzzers all the way down, but no straight razor to my surprise. I assumed he’s the expert and said thanks and gave a $10 tip. I get home and start rubbing my newly bald head, and there are parts that are skin, and parts that are fuzzy. It’s quite patchy. I could tell the barber rushed through the job. He didn’t look closely. He didn’t make sure it was thorough. And again, didn’t say much of anything at all. 5 stars for the friendly owner. 1 star for the barber experience. Average them out - 3 stars.read more

Just got my first cut from Rocco and couldn't be happier; it looks amazing. Moving to a new place and finding a new barber is nerve wracking as you never know what you're going to get, but based on the photos on Duke's website I was pretty sure I was in for a great cut. I’ve been getting my hair cut by Duke himself for years now, and he always makes sure I leave his shop looking fresh. The shop has a great atmosphere, and is always very clean with excellent service. I can always recognize the amount of effort and care Duke puts into cutting my hair, which says a lot considering how the shop is often busy when I stop in for appointments. You can tell the amount of dedication Duke and the other staff have for their craft. Whatever you ask for, Duke will make sure you’re satisfied and that you get exactly what you’re looking for. I cannot emphasize the level of quality that I get from every haircut Duke gives me. When I come in now, Duke already knows how I want my hair to look if I ask him to cut it the same as last time. Duke’s expertise can allow him to give suggestions and feedback on what might look good, or how to style your hair differently if that’s what you’re looking for. Duke and his staff are awesome and I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else to go get a haircut. Top quality every single time.read more

I’ve been getting my haircut at Duke’s for the past year and I am always happy with the results. Duke always does a great job and has given me the cleanest fade+ cut I’ve personally had. I can name four other guys who I go to school with who always get their haircut by either Brian or Duke and the results are always excellent. I moved to Albany in 2011 and tried out many barbershops. In 2013 I tried out Duke’s Barbershop and it by far exceeded my expectations. All the barbers are extremely professional and will style your hair whichever way you want. I like to get a fade and beard trim and always walk out looking fresh. On special occasions my girlfriend requests I get a scissor cut, and they always make me look sharp even when I don’t how to explain the hair style, they make it happen. Really chill atmosphere and fun conversation. This is by far the best barbershop in the capital region. I’ve been going here for a little over a decade and highly recommend!read more
