Barber on 24th is a friendly neighborhood barbershop located in Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia. Owned and operated since 2007 by husband and wife team, Michael Burke and Tanya da Graca. It's a traditional barbershop for scissor & clipper cuts, straight-razor shaves & beard-trimming.

Love the ability to book online. Getting my hair cut here is always extremely relaxing. They gave me a cut with electric clippers for only $20. Great deal. I'm so glad I live nearby. I don't think I'd consider going anyplace else for a haircut.read more

I was on vacation in Philly and luckily went to Barber on 24th to get my hair cut. Victoria was my barber and she took a lot time and care with my cut and styled it exactly how I wanted. She was also very friendly and suggested a lot of places to check out in Philly. Quality barber shop.read more

Great spot for a hair cut. The online reservation system is very easy, staff was friendly, and cut came out exactly as I asked. Will be back in a few weeks for my next cut.

I dont ever leave reviews but this one is definetly worth it. Amir is one of if not the best barbers in philly. Going from my previous barber to him was lights out different and you could tell Amir has a passion and a gift. Not only that, he's a really chill dude to talk and having that relationship with your barber is cruical. He will definetly be my barber for the next couple of years while im in college. Even Stevie Wonder can see he is great at his job.read more

I have been going to VICTORIA for over 2 years now. I get a hair cut 2-3 times a month. Vic is simply one of the best barbers I have ever been to and don’t see myself getting a cut by anyone else in the future. I get a tough haircut with the low skin fade, beard shape up and trim and every time I am 100% satisfied. She takes her time and never rushes even if my cut is taking a little longer then normal. Always provides great customer service and I consider more then just my barber now but a friend. I get compliments everywhere I go on my haircut and the profession I’m in I talk to a ton of new people each day and am always confident I look professional and sharp. Thank you Vic for the consistency and respect you always give me. I travel from Northeast Philly to Barber on 24th just because I know I will be getting a amazing cut. The other barbers in the shop are also very kind and provide great customer service. TIP: Most of these barbers book up extremely fast especially Victoria. I usually try to book my appointment in a couple days in advance because of the high volume of clients she has. It’s almost impossible for you to walk in without a appointment. Just speaks of type of work they provide. Got a haircut here after months in quarantine. My barber Israel was professional, nice, and gave me a great cut! Barber on 24th implemented safety protocols during COVID-19, including large pump bottles of hand sanitizer, the barber wearing gloves, everyone wearing masks, etc. A great experience all around, and I look forward to coming back.read more

I had first appointment here today w/ Victoria, and I was very satisfied with my haircut. I have used Barber on 24th a total of 3 times for myself and my little guy. It is very hard for me to leave my comfort zone especially after parting from my barber of 16 years (closing/moving). This happened to coincide with my 1 year old needing a regular barber to use.These guys proved to be a perfect fit from the start between the ease of booking appointments to the awesome care of my son provided by Monique. The shop is clean, has good vibe and has great barbers. I have exclusively used Monique for both my son and myself and I’ve never had any complaints whatsoever. In fact, she was so sweet with my son for his first haircut, he was laughing and smiling at her the entire time. She really is great with kids and proves that every time when she finds new things to keep him occupied with. She’s also great with adults too and is able to get my fairly straightforward cut done in a timely manner.All in all, I highly recommend the shop, especially Monique,with a true 5 star rating!!! Many barbershops have an air of arrogance and exclusivity about them - almost like I'm inconveniencing them by coming in. Not this place. 24th is always nice and welcoming, the prices are more than reasonable and I end up with a great cut. Ask for Phil, he is the man.read more

I’ve been going to this barbershop for a few years now and am consistently thrilled with the service and result. Every barber I have used has given me consistent and friendly service. Although I’ve used a number of barbers here over the years, Monique is the one I’ve been using most recently and she’s fantastic! I really appreciate that the shop is welcoming to everyone regardless of gender and don’t upcharge me for being a woman despite asking for a man’s cut. They’ve also never argued with me about wanting a very short cut or tried to get me to go more “feminine” and have always given me exactly what I want. I’m so glad to have found this place after many years of hopping barber to barber.read more

I always love any chance I get to see the gang at Barber on 24th. I go to Burke and Payne Barber Co. on 9th and Fitzwater these days, on the east side of town (Same Team), but Barber on 24th will always hold a dear place in my heart. Even though the site says "Walk-ins Welcome", it is advisable to book online as they get booked very fast.I had Victoria shave and trim my beard and I must say she was awesome.I went in knowing the look I wanted and she pulled it off flawlessly.Gonna try to go every 2 weeks to keep my goatee trimmed and neat at all times.read more

Although I wouldn't say it's a perfect barber shop I was still impressed and would recommend.I recently moved to the area and had tried 2 other places for 3 cuts total. All 3 cuts were below par especially for the price, so I figured I'd try yet another place. I had Nick, who listened well to what I wanted, and cleaned everything he used thoroughly. Was talkative, without biting your ear off type, and did everything I asked well.As people mentioned, they keep you turned away the entire cut, not sure why even have a wall mirror then other then for show, so I was apprehensive, but the cut came out much cleaner then my last 3 and more what I'm used to.Overall, great without being outstanding, but will definitely go back again to hopefully get consistency finally.read more

Jose is awesome. They have some capacity and just letting people walk in, even if times are booked - but Jose gives a very thorough cut (which a lot of the quality cuts now in Philly feel very rushed).read more

I booked an appointment with Jose. First time in his chair and at this particular barbershop because my old one moved away. He claimed to have cut hair since the 90's. It showed. Like Paul Pierce, he is "The Truth." Nothing can beat experience in this craft. Like a previous reviewer noted, he took his time, was meticulous and did not rush. It was about an hour long appointment. He also came before his official start time to make an appointment for me that fit my schedule. During the cut he was courteous, he listened to what I wanted done, and executed. When you book an appointment with him, ask him what the "blow out is."read more

Phil was very nice and very good at making convo and asking questions as he goes. The store is clean and service is timely. My only complaint is that a little too much was taken off the back, I was going for more of a mullet but was given a more modern look. Either way the haircut is great just not entirely what I wanted but service was too good and convenient to lose stars!read more

When I lived in Philadelphia, this was THE barbershop to go to. Jessa was absolutely fantastic, always super nice and friendly even when I didn’t have much to talk about. She always did an AMAZING job and I never left unhappy. She truly loves her clients and shows it in her work and always makes sure you’re happy before you get up from the chair. I’ve been getting a cut from Israel (Iz) for many years now. I’ve been getting cuts in the city for over 25 years and he has been the most consistent barber I’ve ever had. He is consistently on time, provides the most consistent haircut and is always finished in the allotted time without harming the quality of his work. I cannot emphasize how great of a barber he is. Most recently I’ve started bringing my 3 year son here and it’s been an amazing experience. He gets excited to get his cut every few weeks. Nick and Jessa have been giving him cuts and they are so patient with him but separately they are providing quality children haircuts for my son. He loves them both and I thank them for taking such good care of my young one. Overall a great place for anyone.read more

I'm a social worker at the VA hospital and one of my Veteran clients had gone many months without any hair maintenance and was in desperate need of some TLC. Because of some of this Veteran's struggles, I was worried about finding the right barber to take him to because it was critical to me that he be treated with patience, respect, and compassion. I brought him into Barber on 24th as a walk-in on a Tuesday to see if we could get him a haircut. One of the barbers had availability later in the afternoon, so we came back in a couple of hours. My Veteran was treated like a king and given a handsome cut and shave, along with a scalp treatment which he sorely needed. The barber took her time and did everything she could to take care of him and to get him looking ship-shape. I was thrilled with our experience that day--I could not have asked for more. I was so relieved and pleased that the team at Barber on 24th was so good to my Veteran. Excellent service and one of best Barber shops I have used over the year. I used to live in the neighborhood 14 years ago and my son and I used to go here all the time. We moved to the Bay Area and it tools us years to find a similar barber shop. Moved back to the neighborhood couple of years and was thrilled to find that Barber on 24th was still thriving. I just walked out of here today with the most embarrassing haircut I have ever gotten.I wanted a simple mens haircut taper on the sides, parted left to right and keep the top long with blending. I had one of the guys.My side burns and around the back are very uneven, he moved my part down to the side of my head, and to top it all off he actually did not blend any of the top and so it looks like I have a mushroom hair cut. It was suppose to be a 30 minute hair cut and I was in and out in 15. I was even telling him I have my first presentation tomorrow and he left me with this for 45 bucks. I don't even want to go back and get it fixed I am gonna go somewhere else tomorrow. Save your money and avoid.
