33's Barber Shop in Trenton, NJ is a great barber for the whole family, especially kids. It's a friendly relaxed environment with plenty of games to keep your kids entertained. The barbers are great at working with young children, even those that don't like going to the barber.

Tina is great, everyone there is nice. Quick, easy, pleasant and talented service. Only downside for me is when I hit it when lots of children are in the play area, screaming (joyfully, over presumes!). It really is primarily a place for kids so I can't really complain. Too my grandson 17. Will never go back, I could have cut his hair better. They did not listen to what he had to say at all. Very uneven and a lot shorter than he asked for. Was not asking for something impossible!read more

Love the play area for the kids and the pink Mercedes for my daughter to sit in when she gets her bangs trimmed. They are really quick with her too. Other places need at least 15 minutes and I don't think she was in for even 5read more

I can't say enough good things about this business and Ed! My husband and I brought our one-year-old in for his first haircut and he was instantly intrigued by the train set. He didn't get a chance to play this time because there was no wait! Ed got him in the chair, which my son wasn't a fan of because he loves to run around. Although my son let his displeasure of being strapped in the chair known by yelling and trying to escape, Ed was so incredibly patient and extremely careful as my son moved around. Between the friendliness of the staff, the fun atmosphere for kids, and the super reasonable price, I couldn't have asked for a better first haircut experience. We will definitely be going back for future cuts!read more

They are Awesome. Ed & his wife are very generous ppl. They are Professional & Friendly, Kind, & Sweet. They do A Lot for their Community & Ask Nothing in Return. When we were living in Jersey they cut my sons hair & they did a Great Job! My son still talks about Ed to this day! They Really helped us out in our time of need. The one yr if it wasn't for their generosity, my son wouldn't have had anything for Christmas ! Go get your Hair Done There & you Won't Want to go Anywhere Else !!!!!read more

Wonderful place for Kid's haircuts! Plenty of fun things to do, wonderfully skilled employees and lots of distractions for young ones. We went just before the COVID-19 situation and we were recently bemoaning the fact that our little guy needed a haircut and 33's Barber Shop was closed. Marc & his team are professionals who give great cuts at very honest prices. The shop is clean and inviting, and all of the barbers are friendly. I moved out of this area but still drive over an hour to see Marc for my hair cut - will be a customer for life.read more

Great place. Definitely family friendly and spacious. It's fantastic for kids since they have cool car-chairs for the younger ones. My 7yr old who is fussy about getting his haircut has no problem here. He loves the quick and clean cuts (not a fan of salons where they take longer). I even got my cut just recently and they did a fantastic job. We will be repeat customers for sure.read more

First the positive: I’ve taken my kids to this barber for about 3 years now. They are indeed very quick with kids cuts and, though it might not be a perfect cut (it varies greatly by which stylist you get), they’ll get the job done. There is a play area with a padded climber and a train set which is fun for the kids and they have different styling chairs that look like cars. All of these factors, along with the ability to just walk-in any time, made it a convenient place to take my kids.My husband used to get his hair cut here but he wasn’t pleased with the results and stopped going.The place, overall, feels unfinished and a little bit icky. It’s definitely not the most professional or clean looking barber shop and that’s something we’ve been willing to overlook for the convenience of a quick kid’s haircut.The last three times I’ve gone the owners seemed stressed out as they attempt to watch a child (Ed’s granddaughter, I think?). She’s like any other kid, getting into mischief around the shop, and I’ve seen them pause in the middle of a cut to have a talk with her or stop her from doing something she shouldn’t.Overall a good place to take your kids for a quick haircut that’s also a little rough around the edges.read more

This shop is more convenient for children though I enjoyed my haircut because this long Beard old guy was very nice. You can expect sharp finishing but with respect to money it is good.

It is a huge ordeal for our child to have his haircut, typically requires the two of us to keep him still enough to get through the procedure. The tactile experience of cut hair on his face makes the situation worse. We moved recently and were driving three hours back to his original barber. That bad of an ordeal. Now; A note about the environment... Our son was pleased with all the entertaining toys and his choice of seat. The toys and environment are a little on the worn side- but honestly we use hand sanitizer and usually give him a shower right after, so no real issue there. Our barber was unconcerned when we warned her of our child's behavior and for good reason. She stopped occasionally to brush/blow the hair away from his face and kept a calm steady demeanor throughout. Our child tolerated it all like a champ because she took the time to deliberately go through everything. She noted he was upset as his eyes caught his reflection and she deftly turned his seat away to face us with his back to the mirror. Did not make an issue of it, and he didn't either. Yes our child whimpered but he did not buck like a bull fresh out the gate. We were mostly pleased with the haircut outcome, not the best, but the handling of our child really made this place shine. We will most certainly be using this place for all our child's cuts from here on. We are confident the styles we are looking for will match the quality of care for their special clientele.read more

Kids love the vibe of the place with lots of fun cars to sit in, a big train set, and a small climbing gym. Everyone is welcoming. Our 2 year old was crying and squirming the whole time from beginning to end. However, Ed was very reassuring despite our toddler's tantrum and finished the task expeditiously. I can't say enough about Sarah at this Barber shop. Our son has sensory and tactile sensitivities. Haircuts make him melt down. Sarah cuts his hair quickly and constantly adjusts to his needs. When he was smaller, I held him and she constantly brushed his hair off and talked to him about his favorite Disney characters and Disney movies. As he got too big to sit on my lap, she helped him get comfortable in the chair, constantly adjusting to his moving and crying, and relentless asking of "are you done yet"? This last time, she noticed he didn't like the booster seat, then didn't like the seat, he has always hated the cape so she constantly brushes the hair off him and we realized he likes his super hero capes form home that don't cover his arms even though he hates the hair on his arms. Again, she adjusted, let him stand up as she cut his hair, and kept brushing the hair off his arms and face. She's amazingly patient and does a good job each time, although not perfect, but my son moves and winces a thousand fold more than the typical child. Additionally, my husband likes getting his hair cut there, everyone from Ed the owner to any of the others do a great job. I highly recommend them. (A plus, both my daughter and son love playing there.)read more

I never leave reviews however I had such a positive experience yesterday I had to leave a comment. My son is about to turn 2 and he doesn’t love getting his haircut. The last time we went he cried the entire time so I was a little nervous to take him again. Sarah is an absolute gem! She let my son sit on my lap throughout the haircut, she was incredibly patient and kind, funny, and really cared about our experience. Most importantly…she gave my son the BEST haircut and he looks absolutely adorable. She really listens to her clients. He didn’t cry at all and was calm the entire time! I hope Sarah never leaves because I plan on requesting her every time. Thank you for such a positive experience for my son.read more

We've been going here since my son was one, he's now 2.5 yrs old and everyone is always so great with him! Yesterday, my son was more wiggly than normal, everything that typically works to keep still wasn't working. We had to take a step back to reset....cutting a toddler's hair is not easy, but Julia was able to finish his haircut exactly how we wanted it. It turned out great! Haley is fantastic and the best!! My 3 year old son had a few very bad experiences.... but she made him feel so comfortable and she has sooo much experience with terrified children. Great place to get your affordable haircut at a reasonable pace - no appointments just walk-ins allowed at the time of this review. My wife and child got their haircuts at 33 Barber shop lately and are happy about how it went. They take time to make sure your children are happy and taken care of by not rushing the process. The place is not super clean but they offer haircut at reasonable price so I'm planning to do my own at 33 Barber next time around.read more

It's a great place with a ton of space, equipment, fun decor, and a huge area for small kids to play. They give great haircuts for older people as well, as Carla cut my hair exactly how I asked. She made sure to triple check with me on the cut I wanted and started small talk occasionally. The price was a bit expensive but overall great. Definitely coming back.read more

Great place for kids cuts. They have a good check in and call up system. Lots of games/toys to entertain the kids.It was pretty busy when I visited last and they still got both my kids in chairs in less than 10 minutes. Highly recommend.read more
