Description
Thee Brooklyn Barber in Greenpoint is classy throwback to a more retro style barber shop with antique decor, good conversation and 60s/70s era music. They offer classic hot straight razor shaves with pre-shave oils/lotions, hot towels to soften skin and open pores, shaving lubricants, and hot eucalyptus towels. Overall, a very enjoyable shave. Half shaves are also available to go along the upper cheeks, neck, and mustache. All services finish with steaming eucalyptus towel. Also, enjoy a glass of whiskey, while you hang out. It's typically walk in only, but they currently accepting appointments via phone call.

Gabe and his Dad (Uncle Sam) have an awesome shop here!$10 less than most other places in the area. Love free markets 😉 🇺🇸Classic Old School barbers with hot towels, foam and close shaves, whiskey and hilarious banter can’t go wrong putting the phone down and listening to Uncle Sam’s hilarious stories. I needed a quick haircut before leaving town tomorrow and I found Thee Brooklyn Barber and I am happy that I did! Gabe was the only one there cutting today, but as soon as I stepped in, I could feel the positive energy that gets circulated in the shop. As soon as I sat on the chair, it was all good vibes. We talked the whole time I was getting a haircut and it was fun. Gabe is not only a great barber, but a great human as well. Very personable and professional. Terrific haircut. Franco was superb and clearly has passion for cutting hair. He’s been doing it for ten years (and get this, he’s only 22 yrs old). That’s right - since he was 12! I asked for a simple medium fade and to let the top be. But when he asked if he could clean the top a bit “for a slightly different style” I trusted him despite it being my first time, based on his work with the edges of the fade. I didn’t regret giving him autonomy. He knows what looks good for the shape of your head/face. I think i have found my barber in Brooklyn.read more

Franco cut my hair beautifully. I am very reluctant to try new places because I have fine thinning hair and most hair stylists end up making me look bald when they inevitably cut too much as they keep trying to correct. You get what you pay for. It’s a cheap cut. But your look cheap walking out. Takes them about 10 mins to cut your hair and churn you out. Nice folks though. I had Xavier.

Hands down best barber in Brooklyn! David (Daler) kills it every time. I had originally found this barbershop after I was once in a rush and fell victim to a $15 haircut in Midtown Manhattan (never again!). I was going on vacation the next day and couldn’t go out in public the way I was looking, so I quickly found the only barber that was open late enough to remedy my current situation. I walked into Thee Brooklyn Barber and met David; after a few laughs seeing the state of my hair, David somehow worked his magic and had me looking brand new in no time. After this experience, I refuse to go to any other barber in the city! David takes his time with each cut, is precise, and makes sure to get to know his customers likes and dislikes. He considers his craft a joy and his hobby rather than work, and it shows everytime. The rest of the staff is kind and welcoming as well, always good for a laugh and maybe even a little Russian language lessons. 100% recommend!!read more
