Polished Barber Company is a family friendly barbershop thats clean and takes care of its clients, both men and women. All our services come with a complimentary shampoo. Additionally, everyone is offered a complimentary beverage of water, soda, or coffee. They often have snacks too, plus movies to watch, free wifi, and a nearby shopping center, so there's plenty to do before and after your cut.

Okay, so I don’t normally do reviews but this was just something I couldn’t pass up. From going to hair salons and barbers of other sorts, Polished has to be the place I’m sticking with. My barber was Jason. Really nice and friendly guy. Usually I’m a shy dude and don’t really talk much but he got me out of my shell and started up a conversation. I felt welcomed and like I knew everyone there for years. Not only was the customer service incredible, the cut, my guy, the cut was absolutely astonishing! This mans attention to detail was amazing!!! I walked in feeling like $5, but left feeling like a million. Absolutely loved this place! The staff are very friendly and they are very detailed with their work. During the shutdown, all the barbershops were closed in Jersey so we drove an hour and 30 minutes so my girlfriend and I can get our haircuts. We were very satisfied with the results. Found this place by chance while shopping in Delaware. As soon as I walked in the shop I was impressed. I was pleasantly greeted. The shop is very clean and neat, all barbers wear mask COVID 19 precautions. The owner Thursday, yes her name is Thursday asked me what type of cut I wanted, and gave me a awesome cut. Her attention to detail is inspiring.My best cut ever I told her she is now my barber. After serving in the military over 20 years I know a good haircut. I observed the entire shop is very versatile and gives great cuts. I also love the prewash prior to haircut. No cursing, very professional establishment. I’ve been a client of Thursday and the Polished barber company for over 5 years. I have never received a cut I didn’t love. The atmosphere is professional, clean and extremely organized. I love this place for its cleanliness, safe, and comfortable experience. All of the barbers at Polished are very talented and it shows in the work they do. My particular barber, Thursday, cuts my hair and I leave with compliments from coworkers, friends, and family. I expect my hair to be cut in a certain way often times not getting the side of my head shaped up and I don’t feel judged by my barber or anyone else who works for Polished. The barber shop caters to a diverse clientele and they still leave looking very sharp. I drive from the Philly area to get my haircut because I’m loyal to quality. Even though a cut is sometimes on the pricey side, it is worth the money. Wash/shampoo is included in the service too. Would definitely recommend to anyone who values a quality haircut!read more

My 15 year old son DOES NOT like to be touched, so taking him to the barber is infuriating! I have been shaving his head since he was a toddler, but he wants to grow his hair out now and he needed a trim. My wife made the appointment, but my son was giving her a hard time about going, so I brought him.When we showed, the appointment was under my wife's name and I think that a woman's hair cut was going to happen....instead a tattooed (and dirty) manual laborer and his angst riddled teenager.Dianna took the unexpected surprise amazingly! She was professional, polite, and communicated incredibly well with my son. I listened to her conversation with him, she made him feel at ease and put him in control of how he looks. His hair looks AMAZBALLS!!!!! He has been smiling and talkative since we got home. His younger brother even complimented his hair. 😳 Dianna boosted a young man's self-esteem today...priceless.Please go and get a boost in your self-esteem at Polished in Claymont and ask for Dianna.Make sure you tip your hair care professionals well, they work very hard and also have taken huge hits due to the pandemic as have most service industry workers.read more

I absolutely adore this place in its entirety, since my fiance and I moved to De, we've only taken our boys here (7 n 14), esp because ever since the 1st time we took them, they not only did an amazing job, but were super friendly and the place had such a great/ chill atmosphere! We weren't sure what to do for our 7yo so we left it up to the barber and he by far, killed it! They are incredibly good w/ the lil ones too. Their prices are fair, and they just give 'professional barber' a whole new meaning. Will def be coming back, I without a doubt will be recommending this place for sure. I can't see anybody walking out of there not happy while also more than likely having surpassed your expectations as well, no kidding. Yeah, It wasn't a good day. The haircut i got was misaligned. The barber who did this haircut kinda messed it up. The hair on my head is uneven. A simple straight shave would've sufficed, for the top, but chose to do it by hand.Update: went again next day becuase Thursday Farrwell (FYI, not the same barber who initially cut my hair) offered to fix my hair. She delivered and exceeded my expectations. Still the best barbershop in Claymont. She and the business commits to customer satisfaction.read more

I recently recently tried Polished Barber based upon their reviews. Upon my first visit the shop was clean and modern. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Nice music was playing in the background. The shop is easy to get to from parts of DE, PA or NJ.All that stuff is great, but in the end it’s all about the cut. I showed a person named Coert a few pictures of what I was looking for. I was a little nervous admittedly seeing I was unfamiliar with the area and not too hair Savvy. A lot of what I describe to other barbers translates to inaccurate or word vomit. Just speaking with my barber at the time Thursday(who is an absolute joy) set a lot of my concerns to ease, and quickly brought out everything I was trying to say but better.I’ve only visited once and I can already say that this shop is a reliable outlet for the foreseeable future, and I strongly encourage anyone that hasn’t wandered through those doors to give them a shot. Everyone was super friendly! Laughing and interacting with not just their coworkers, (like some places) , the clients are interacting as well! I’ll be honest .. I went to this shop not sure what to expect but I was blown away with the customer service. Before and during the haircut. My first time there I was able to see customers being rude to the employees when the employees followed every instruction the customer wanted and some how thought they had the right to disrespect these hard working individuals. Great atmosphere, super friendly and talented staff. Coert gave me hands down the best cut I’ve ever had. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and talked through everything he was doing to make sure I got the best cut for me. You can tell that he and the other staff really own and love their craft.
