On the Mark Barber Shop always provides a lovely experience for a hair cut. Izzy was particularly accommodating. Listened to my concerns and wants and delivered the exact hair cut I was looking for. Really good barbershop. It's very popular for obvious reasons, so depending on who you want to cut your hair, you might have to make an appoint a few days in advance. If you don't have preference you can probably walk in. They are pretty consistently good, I've had a few guys cut my hair there.read more

I got into NYC for a 2-week summer course at NYU, and had limited time to get a haircut and beard trim while around. I read that Izze does good fades, so I signed up for a cut and beard trim. He did really great work, and he also hit all parts of what I needed: crisp fade, solid beard trim, and even scissor cutting my longer hair on top. Even lined up everything with the blade too. He got a lot of this done in the allotted time, so I appreciated that. Nice vibe in the shop and easy to sign up for appointments. Reasonable prices too.read more

Fantastic spot. I needed a haircut ASAP and my regular barber was out of town. My brother in law suggested this spot. Walked right in with no appointment and was seen immediately by the dynamic, warm, and friendly Izze. Beautiful cut and he trimmed up my beard which was in desperate need of shaping. This place is amazing. If you're a guy and want a noticeably sharp haircut , go here! Special shout out to David - I have very coarse, curly hair, and for years have not been happy with my cuts, but this guy is like Michelangelo Buonarroti with shears, blade, and buzzers. I sit down, and he turns the difficult marble on my head into a masterpiece. A wonderful hometown barbershop charging reasonable prices for a haircut. Current rate I believe is $28.00. I've been coming here for nearly 2 years and have sat with Mark nearly every time. He's almost always ready for me at my reserved time +/- 5mins, which is great. Important note: it's cash only, they likely don't take venmo but have not confirmed that. They've got an ATM inside the shop though it does charge a service fee. There's also a Bank Of America ATM a few avenues over, and Mark always accommodates me running to it after a haircut when I find myself without cash. Get a reservation online if you can, and use Mark! Great place, highly recommended!read more

After Covid-19 took its toll on the city, and everyone's hair, I was a bit unsure about where I'd get a haircut after so many months, and, frankly, what style I'd get. I'm not into a very fussy, salon-type experience that consumes an hour+ of your time & charges a fortune. At the same time I didn't want to sacrifice quality. I'd walked by this place several times and the space looked clean, chic and friendly. I decided to give it a shot, feeling a bit nervous on the way. My anxiety disappeared the moment I sat down with one of the barbers. I shared my thoughts on what I wanted to have done and he threw some ideas back at me. What followed was a really comfortable and positive experience which, to top it off, was nowhere near as expensive as it could have been. I loved my haircut and walked away feeling glad that I chose to go there. If you're feeling the way I did, trust me, you're in good hands. This is my definition of a well-done business.read more

David does an excellent job giving me a straight-razor shave each Friday, all the while preserving and cultivating my sideburns. He is also accommodating and friendly.Zooming out, the barbershop as a whole is clean and welcoming (but not too welcoming, ha—you New Yorkers know what I'm talking about…). The barbershop itself has a trendy and modern feeling to it where you are offered complimentary drinks with your haircut. Easy to get to in a nice and safe area near Union Square. Nate the barber, i have been visiting for 6 months and is the best haircut i have had in NYC since i moved up here from Atlanta, 4 years ago. The quality, the attention to detail, and friendliness of Nate makes him worth the price every single day. I have never seen another customer unhappy with their cut from anyone else in the shop because everyone in the shop prides themselves on their work. Any kind of hair you have, they can tackle. As someone who just moved from San Francisco and hadn't let someone new touch my hair in over 5 years, I was a bit nervous, but Nate quickly earned my trust and didn't disappoint.Not only did he provide a flawless, skin-tight fade, but he also offered some helpful suggestions on how to deal with the dry winter air in NYC. I’ve been going to David for about 4 years now. I’ve gotten every type of cut imaginable (from fades to long slick hair to getting my head shaved). David is always extremely consistent and honestly just really good at cutting hair (hence why I keep going back). He offers suggestions for when you want to switch it up as well. He also remembers what you did the previous visit and this helps guide the next haircut.David is not only excellent at cutting hair but also a young down to earth guy who is chill and easy to get along with. Have been going to David for over 2 years now and my guy doesn't miss. He's more consistent than a strict Southern Baptist going to church every Sunday. I randomly picked him 2 years ago and couldn't be any happier. Does a great job with my monthly haircut and shave (have medium length hair with short sides) and I refuse to go to anyone else if he's not available at this point. Ask for David -- Literally the barber of barbers! I've been coming here for about 5 years, one day I noticed that David seemed to be cutting the hair and trimming the beards of the other barbers, so I decided to give him a try when my other barber Mark was not available.
