Went there for the first time today. I searched Google and saw they had excellent reviews, but so did other local barbers. What made me decide on them was seeing the “before and after” photos which helped making a connection with me. When I first walked in I was greeted in a friendly manner and after a few minutes everyone at the shop was engaged in conversation. It was friendly and laid back. They explained the history of the business and how each barber is is rated and certified. (Not sure I’m saying that right). My barber was Shane who took meticulous care of my hair and beard. It was a no brained to setup my next appointment. They also have a system that texts me my appointments and are technology forward. They have a free app as well. Not to mention they have coffee and beer as well as events like cigar nights. Bottom lone is I immediately felt welcomed and at home and my service was professional and personal. I highly recommend this establishment and their other 3 locations.read more

Great barbers. Never been so satisfied with a haircut in my life. Tried the straight razor shave though, and I don't know if it was because the guy's blade was dull or if my skin is just too sensitive but that was pretty uncomfortable. I love going to see Shane for my cut every two weeks. The environment is awesome, the staff is great, and I appreciate being offered a free drink every time I visit. I needed a haircut in the worst way, thanks to the Covid-19 shutdown in SE PA.Modern Male in Quakertown had an opening which worked with my schedule.I didn't know what to expect & was happy when the experience exceeded my expectations.For me, a haircut is pretty straight forward but Shane made it look good too. The shop was a clean very orderly operation. They had everything organized to be socially distanced yet comfortable for their patrons.I'm happy I went & will certainly return.read more

I was in the area for business and realized that I needed a cut. So I searched the area and read some reviews and settled on Modern Male. I soon learned I did NOT SETTLE. This place is awesome! The vibe is great and the way they work together is inspiring. Erik was my barber. He was professional and courteous. Not only that, he took the time to learn about me and told me about how much pride he takes in his job. IT SHOWS! He did a killer job and I will be back. Shane was amazing! My son usually has a hard time sitting still, but Shane made him feel super comfortable and got the job done quickly. My wife scheduled me for a beard trim and straight razor shave the day before our wedding. I was very exited for my first ever straight razor shave. It felt awesome and looked good from the seat to the wall mirror about 3 feet away. The playful banter between the barbers was refreshing and reminded me of barbershops from the movies. Was a decent experience. But there were some things I wasnt thrilled with. The shave was not as close as my disposable razors which was not a big deal but a little disappointing. The barber seemed a little disinterested with cutting my hair. I mentioned it was my wedding the next day and no response for a good bit then asked where I was getting married at. I was never handed a hand mirror so I didnt see all of the spots in my beard that were uneven. One side of my mouth got missed completely and was twice the length of the other side. All in all it looked good from a distance and he did what I do in half the time but not nearly as well. I think I will continue to do my own beard and shaves. I feel horrible writing a not so hot review but after an almost 50% tip I need to be honest.read more

Exceptional service in a blast from the past - a contemporary recreation of the barbershop of the past, complete with smartly uniformed barbers, hot lather and towels, and straight razor shaves. A wonderful addition to the growing, refurbished south side of Quakertown, across the street from the restored Trolley Barn food mall. Love it, and looking forward to going back. P. Love this barbershop!!! As a female, I always feel a bit uncomfortable in male barbershops but this one has a relaxing atmosphere. The barbers are really skilled. The one aspect I absolutely LOVE and will be their customer for life is the fact that they are always ON TIME. Every barbershop I’ve been to before, I had to wait with both of my boys for 45 minutes before they even started cutting them which turned into a 2.5 hours ordeal. We are always in and out of Modern Male in less than an hour. Customer for life!read more

Shane is the best around! My 8 year old is autistic and has had the worst time getting his haircut over the years. I’ve been wanting to get him acclimated to a barbershop and I’m so glad we went with Shane. I’ve been to several barbershops and always feel a little out of place as the mom but this shop is always clean, timely, & welcoming. Not only is Shane calm, kind, and accommodating to my kiddo but he 100% does the best cut & shape up around. I've been going to Modern Male for years, and I have never had a bad experience. I can be stubborn about how my hair is done, and I tend to keep a specific style. Yet, they always achieve my desired cut with the addition ofa hot, relaxing towel. My go-to barber is Billy Bags; he's very welcoming and cares about his customers. First Hair CutThis experience was absolutely amazing and I hope everyone's first time is this wonderful. My almost 3 year old son got his first ever hair cut and Paul was a rockstar! He made it super fun, letting my son get adjusted to the the feeling of the razor's vibration and even showed him how the spray bottle worked to keep him distracted. Paul worked fast yet efficient, he was super careful and really listened to what we wanted for our son. He even warned us, in the beginning, that our son would look older than when he walked in and he sure was right. Which tears almost were shed as my baby boys curly locks fell to the floor but to see my son's face when he saw himself was priceless. But the coolest part is they cut off a few curls, placed it in a keep safe container and made my son a first hair cut certificate, making this experience something we won't forget and will always have a little piece as a reminder. 1000% recommend, my husband and son will be going back for father son cuts and I know they'll both be in great hands.read more

The name is fitting for the experience you'll have. The decor, the uniforms, everything... quite the experience. I'm confident that all the barbers are very well trained and talented, but our experience was with Billy. He was quick and thorough and we left extremely satisfied with a great cut. Some would consider the place pricey, but it seems definitely worth the quality of work they are doing. I didn't see one bad cut while waiting for my son to get his hair cut. Also, I noticed many young boys(small children) getting haircuts, and everyone was working extremely well with them.read more

Can't beat this organization (owner has multiple shops) for technically proficient and professional staff. Training and brand ambassadorship on the part of long-time employees is most evident. There's an App to schedule if you like. My go-to barber is Justin, but if I can't align to his schedule, I confidently book an available barber (even at a location other than Quakertown).Long list of available services/menu. Clean facilities, close shaves, and hot towels. Don't forget cold complimentary beverages.read more
