Mackrell’s Barber Shop is a simple and classic one chair barbershop started by Mark Mackrell in 2002. Come get an old fashioned taper cut that you would expect from a barbershop.
They are currently not accepting new customers. For existing costumers of Mackrell’s Barber Shop, you will need to make an appointment.

Mackrell’s is a fantastic barber shop; they deliver consistently fantastic haircuts while fostering a cool, relaxing, friendly environment. Each barber is nice and does a great job. Only been coming here for a short while, but after trying several barber shops in the Scranton area, this is the only one that I get a consistently good haircut from. Never have to worry about the quality of the cut or conversation. Great atmosphere and great haircuts, not much more to say about it.read more

I have been getting my haircut here for over 10 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. Don't listen to the few bad reviews as after reading them they are untrue or at no fault of the shop itself.Sometimes there is a wait but the majority of the time over the 10+ years I am in and out within 30 minutes. It would be less if I didn't always wait for the owner to be available which is my choice.Friendly atmosphere, good barbers and fair prices.read more

I have been going to Mack ever since I first started going to the University of Scranton and this will be my 5th year going to Mack's. It's a short walk from campus, the service is fantastic and its very affordable on a students budget. If you go to the U look no further than Mack's for 4+ years of amazing haircuts.read more

Hands down the best barbers I've ever been to. They're willing to spend as long as it takes to get it right and have a lot of great touches like using a straight razor on the back of your neck so it doesn't itch. As if that wasn't good enough to get you to try them, a cut is only $14! I used to spend at least twice that much in Philly for an inferior cut.read more

When I was around the age of 17 I was going to random hair cutting places to try and find the right barber . I went to multiple places and could not seem to find a good one . The very last one I went to on Luzern street in west Scranton they totally messed my hair up and left a bold spot and at that time I gave up . I happened to walk around downtown a few weeks later and I happened to find this place . This was when he was in the older building . I walked in and got greeted with some wonderful smiles and nice words . I talked to the owner and he sat me down and looked at my hair and explained to me this was not acceptable for a “barber “ to do this to someone’s hair , anyhow these people are fantastic! I been going to this barber for years now and I always look forward to going back . They are so polite , the store is always cleaned , the prices are great and they will do anything possible to make you walk out them doors happy . I suggest you if you have not ever been here and you can’t find the right barber to come here because he’s the best and he will definitely not put you down. It’s the best barber around this area. Always so friendly and never put me down . I definitely recommend you trying this place out as you will not be disappointed. Great people and fantastic shop ! I always give Johny the most boring instructions but somehow he takes "idk short and to the left and gives me a great haircut, exactly what I want and makes it somehow a bit better than that, great barber and good conversation on the chair definitely would suggest.read more

Usually a short wait, but that's because the guys do a good job. It's busy because they are good. There is a sign in sheet to wait for your guy, or join the pool and take whomever is next. I've never had bad results.UPDATE: No more waiting, everything by appointment only. Still a great cut.read more

Generally the experience with them for hair-cuts aren't that bad. But today, I had an extremely disappointing experience with Mackrell's Barbershop. They canceled my appointment not once, but twice, without providing valid explanations. When I contacted them for clarification, their excuses were feeble and unsatisfactory. This level of unprofessionalism and lack of consideration for customers' time is unacceptable.read more
