Barber on Pearl in the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn offers a classic barber experience for your haircut or shave. It's a clean and friendly environment, they even have complimentary beer or liquor to enjoy during your haircut. And with every cut, you get a hot towel and straight razor to the back of my neck. Have kids? They also have a full kids section attached to the main barber shop. There's toys and plenty of entertainment for them, and they can also get a haircut themselves.

I love Barber on Pearl. Started going here when I first moved to NY and had a temporary apartment in Dumbo, now I commute across town every few weeks to get my hair cut. Robert is a skilled professional, and I can always count on him for a great cut and nicely curated selection of products. Appreciate the hot towel and straight razor to the back of my neck that comes standard with every cut. Prices can't be beat, and the cold beer doesn't hurt either. Love this place! I get anxious any time I get a haircut because most barbers screw up my luscious locks. But I figured I'd give this local, well-priced shop a shot.Robert was exceptional, both in his technique and with his patience. I always look for John everytime I came here because my boys absolutely love getting their haircut by him! I've been going to Robert and his barbershop since I started living in DUMBO for almost 6 years and I always walk away confident with a great haircut. Robert is such a warm person that I've managed to strike up a friendship with him - him and I always trading stories and recommendations on the latest travel destinations. He and his staff are so friendly and welcoming that you'll feel right at home every time you walk in. The hot towel at the end of each hair cut is something I look forward to every time. Robert saved the day!! I took our 19 month for his 1st haircut to another children’s salon. They completely botched his hair - it was horrendous. I called Robert (he is my fiancée’s barber) and he told me to come right in. I didn’t realize that he had a children’s salon at his barbershop. It was MUCH nicer than the place that I had initially taken my son to. Robert did a fantastic job fixing the terrible haircut. He has a special touch and I very patient with kids. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.read more

Ok. This is the third time I’ve been here. The first time was with Lana. She was wonderful. She was away the second time I went so Anastasia cut my hair. She was also great.Today, I went back and Anastasia cut my hair again…of course, I asked for her. She’s awesome. She’s intuitive. I was here something like 2-3 months and she remembered what I wanted.The thing is, this is not just a haircut. It’s an experience. She gives me a phenomenal haircut. Then she shaves my neck with a straight razor using hot shaving cream. Then she takes a hot towel, rubs it on my neck and my head to get all of the hair bits off so they don’t slip into my shirt causing that annoying itch.In addition to all that, free beer, wine, and liquor to those who want it.You just can’t go wrong with this place and especially Anastasia. For about $30, you can’t get that level of excellent in New York anywhere.read more

Brought my boyfriend here for a quick cheap haircut while in DUMBO and I was extremely impressed. $22 for a pretty great cut, extremely fast. He didn't get anything too complicated, and I'm not sure I'd go here for high level scissor work. But they had complimentary liquor for you while you got your hair cut (take that $50+ barber shops!)Definitely recommend for someone who's looking for a great quick cut.read more

My boyfriend has been going here and seeing a guy named Bruno who's been doing a fabulous job. This is the best haircuts he's had since we moved to NYC a year ago. BEAUTIFUL and hip location right in DUMBO, clean inside, cheerful and helpful barbers/stylist that care about your hair. AND WHAT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE. My BF Nico is a customer for life. His last experience he was playfully arguing with the owner and his client about how Bruno is the best Barber in the city, and the owner and client were firing back and saying that the owner was the best barber. My 2 year old son absolutely hates haircuts and we’ve always had terrible experiences and complete meltdowns trying to have his hair cut… until we came to see Anastasia at Barber on Pearl. She was very, very patient and cautious with cutting his hair, and for the first time he didn’t have a complete meltdown. She even got halfway through the haircut before he seemed to realize what was happening. In the end he did cry, but afterwards he was proud to show off his haircut and seemed happy about the experience. It helps that they have cool kids barber seats, plenty of toys, and an appealing kids area - but Anastasia made all the difference and we’ll recommend her to anyone.read more

Tina is an absolute master of her craft. Consistently gives the best haircut i've ever gotten. Thankfully, I live in Dumbo, but I can confirm that I would travel for this cut. It's the type of look you would go for before your wedding, a big interview, etc. and it's just right in the backyard.2 on the sides and back, clinical scissor work up top. Not a single hair unaccounted for. Top tier straight blade on the neck afterwards. You'll leave feeling like you could run for president.read more

almost hidden gem of a barber shop in dumbo. i live close by and on a whim, decided to get my haircut — and wanted to do it, like “right now”.saw they cut kids hair, but didn’t see anything listed for women online .. since i was on the way home— walked in without an appointment.friendly, clean space and fast. took me in immediately and 20 minutes later, walked out a happy camper. quick dry cut to chop off damaged ends, thorough job and well done.take note, as someone who spends $150+ for haircuts, i’d say this was on par with some cuts i’ve had.cannot recall her name, she’s got dark short hair and i’d recommend 100%. plus at $50 and a loyalty card, there’s no doubt i’ll be back!read more

Anastasia is an OUTSTANDING hairstylist/barber. I moved to NYC 2 years ago and have gone to many barbers, who make my evolving baldness look WORSE.
